It’s Bank Holiday Monday and it’s Boiling Hot!

Image
Well it’s going to be a very short blog today because quite frankly I’ve not done a lot. I did go to the beach this morning     I suppose but the day trippers were already arriving so it was a bit busy.  Later on we went to see Rog and I suppose I did get a walk in the woods beforehand. Nix thought it would hilarious to hide from me because I was taking too long and then take a video of me in slow motion. She’ll say I was panicking when I couldn’t see her. I definitely was not panicking, I just like to have a little trot every now and again. There were a lot of people there too, all down for the day to go to the beach. I think I’m very lucky to live here all the time.   This afternoon our neighbour and my friend Jackie came round for tea and biscuits. This would have been okay if Nix hadn’t eaten all the biscuits she’d bought for the occasion and I had to stay on my own while she went out to buy more. They have decided they are going to go in to the sea together...neither of them can

Lemon Drizzle Cake Today...I Didn’t Get Any 😕

Image
Just off to have a little rest as I am very tired. We met Debbie and Scruffy at the woods for a walk and a cup of tea with lemon drizzle cake. Don’t even bother to ask if I got any lemon drizzle because I definitely did not. I am attempting right now to find a phone number where you can report this cruel behaviour.  After the woods we went for a dip in the sea. When I say ‘we’ obviously I mean me and Scruffy as the humans are a bit too worried about it being cold. It was lovely in there but I always feel the need to bark a lot because I want things thrown in for me to get. Telling me there isn’t anything to throw in is not going to stop me barking. Going up the beach and finding something to throw in will do the trick...it’s not rocket science 🙄 I won’t write too much as there are lots of photos...I particularly like the one of moi next to Nix’s wet trainers 🤣

The Leaning Tower of Shoreham

Image
It’s Saturday and the sun is out. Nix is in a great mood because she had so many birthday wishes yesterday but of course lots of you said how much you enjoyed my blog. Yes  I know Nix does the typing but if I didn’t have such an interesting life then it wouldn’t be so enjoyable would it. Waited for Bear to come and then we went to the beach...I sank into a sinkhole...quite a long way...Nix panicked 🙄 A bit later on we went across into town to go to the market and then when we got there it wasn’t on. I didn’t mind too much as we still had an interesting walk. I don’t know why but whenever Nix takes a photo of me by the St Mary de Haura church she always turns it into the leaning tower of Shoreham 🤣 Never mind, I feel I am looking at my best especially after the incident with the sinkhole this morning.  I posed with some baps as lots of you didn’t know what they were. Apparently you have to be very careful how you use the word as it has connotation thingies...that means it’s rude 🤭

It’s.Nix’s Birthday Today 🎉

Image
It’s Nix’s birthday today...she’s 76 and that’s a lot older than moi whatever she might say. She is very happy with all her birthday messages and she doesn’t  realise that you are actually my friends and not hers. I thought I’d let her think they’re hers as it’s her birthday. She’s been trying to read all the messages and said her eyesight was really playing up and then she realised she was still wearing her sunglasses 😎🙄 I was promised a walk to a new spot called Highdown Hill and a stop for tea and lemon drizzle cake at their tea rooms. It did entail one quite busy road which as you know Nix doesn’t like but decided as it was her birthday she’d give it a go. Big mistake...she took the wrong exit at the roundabout and ended up on an even faster road going in the wrong direction. I was busting for a wee and have to put up with her squealing about not knowing where she was. Eventually we saw a signpost for the sea so we headed there and at least she knew where we were and I could get

Egg and Avocado Bap in Worthing...

Image
Well we’ve been very busy bees today. First of all this morning I posed on the new bench. It’s like a sightseers bench and tells you all about Shoreham. It’s only here for a few days and then it will move along the coast. It’s part of the Brighton festival because they’re very arty there. Some bloke called me a poser, did you hear him...I was very flattered 🙂 When we got home a man came to collect the fence that Nix had taken down and replaced with a lower one so she could gab over the fence to our neighbour Jackie. She had been told she couldn’t saw the top off the old ones because it would fall apart. What did this chap do, sawed the top off because he wanted a shorter one...Nix was not happy, said she’d been misinformed 🙄 Lunchtime we went to Worthing for lunch. Nix had an egg and avocado bap on the beach. It smelled very good and Nix saved me a big piece of egg. Egg and avocado baps are very hard to eat when you don’t have a table and Nix got most of it over her face...people we

I stayed on my own again this morning while Nix went to the hairdressers. It’s the first time she’s been since before the virus thingy started and might I say about time too. She’s been cutting it herself...went on to the YouTube thingy to see how to do it. It didn’t turn out well and I’ve had to walk down the street with her...embarrassing 😱 We’ve been down the river this afternoon and I couldn’t help but notice that some of the signs had gone. Nix said it was the wind but I think if they’re not there then you don’t have to follow their rules. I wanted to go down to my favourite spot but Nix said it was an area of special scientific interest and I was not to go down there...I went down there 🤭 Tomorrow we are going to see Rog again so I’m looking forward to that. The hospice is right next to my favourite woods too so that’s good. I wish Rog could come with us on our walk but he isn’t strong enough but we will be able to go for a walk round the gardens...there’s a pond 👏

Got Bitten on the Bottom Today...

Image
Nix was trying to work out how old I would be if I was a human being and she worked out that I would be 77...older than her! I knew that couldn’t be right, I mean I can still see where I’m going so I’ve been checking and I am actually only just over 65. I should be receiving a pension really, I’ll take it in tripe sticks.   There was the tiniest of incidents in the park. It wasn’t really my fault but I might have instigated it. Nix says they’re both the same thing and it was my fault. There was a young retriever who was very annoying. He was trying to jump on everyone and when he tried to jump on a dog that was on the lead I felt I had to act. The owner was screaming for the owner of the retriever to get him away but he was miles away and unable to help so I felt it my job to put a stop to these shenanigans. I launched myself at the retriever who in turn launched himself at me and he bit my bottom. Anyway I’m okay, at least the dog on the lead had time to get away so I think I’m more

I might be in a Bit of Trouble...

Image
I might be in a bit of trouble but I am assessing Nix’s mood right now. I’ll tell you about my day and then I might know more...it’s connected with the roll she bought for her tea 🤭 So this morning I had my ‘before’ photo taken on the beach as I was going to the groomers later in the day. I am put through this ordeal every couple of months because Nix is too lazy to groom me regularly. She blames it on my thick coat...always someone else’s fault 🙄 After the groomers I got another quick walk to the beach but it was very windy so I hope you can see my new haircut properly. Nix tries to make out I prefer it shorter and strictly between you and me I do but I prefer to let Nix feel guilty for a while. This afternoon we have been to the park and on the way home Nix stopped off to pick up a veggie roll for her tea. This was because she had miscalculated last week’s shop and the cupboards were bare. She was busy looking at today’s photos and deciding which ones to use so I took my chance an

Very Boring Day Today, it’s not Good Enough!

Image
Do you know I’ve done absolutely nothing today. There have been no photos taken of moi and I’m very very bored. Yes I know I had my two mile walk this morning but as soon as we got home Nix took herself off to church without moi. She wasn’t gone that long and I was a very good boy but I did think I should have liked to have gone too. Mind you that was before I discovered they’d been singing hymns outside the church 😱 How embarrassing is that, what must the neighbours think. Nix said she really enjoyed it as she hasn’t been able to sing in church since the beginning of the virus thingy. One of the chaps took his accordion outside and played for them to sing...I’m glad I wasn’t there, I should not have liked the noise.  A man came to change our fence this afternoon. Nix and our neighbour Jackie thought it would be nice to be able to chat over the fence but it was too high. Nix bought  some lower ones so now they can see each other and have a good old chin wag. When the old fence came d

Visit to see Rog my Dog Father

Image
Busy day today and guess what, we found another buoy on the beach which will look very nice in our back garden. It belongs to a boat called the Royal Rebel so I’d like to keep it because I think it is rather suited to my nautical standing 🙂  Nix says we have to ask the owner if they want it back but hopefully they’ll say we can keep it.   We don’t really know why I was named Fripp of course but Nix thinks it’s after some poncy English painter caller Albert Fripp. I have to say that I disagree and I know I was named after the very infamous pirate Captain Johannesburg Fripp. He was very swashbuckling a bit like moi 🙂 This afternoon we have been to see my dog father Rog in the hospice and he was really quite well. We went for a walk in the gardens and I gave him lots of kisses. I hope we can go and see him again next week.

Bit of a Windy Old Day

Image
It’s a bit windy here, Nix took a video...there’s a big bird poo on the window 🤣 Nix did a Zoom thingie this morning and I slept in the bedroom because it’s a bit boring for dogs. When I hear them all saying goodbye I like to take up my position for the ’stare’ so we can get straight out for a walk. I knew it would take more persuasion this morning because of the wind so I got in nice and close. Nix pressed the ‘Leave Now’ button and looked at me and said, “Hello big ears!” and then realised she had missed the button and was still connected to the group. She’s now panicking that the Vicar might have thought she was talking to her but of course everyone will know she wasn’t because the Vicar is very pretty and anyway she doesn’t have big ears... no one there does...just moi 🤣🤣🤣 Nix took a selfie (she’s not very good) when we came home from a very windy walk and I posed for some photos with my snuffle mat which was a present from my friend Ginny.  Tomorrow we are going to the hospic

Sausage in a Roll or Sausage Roll...that is the Question...

Image
Yesterday was fun because we had a visit from Yvonne and George, Nix’s friends. You see Nix does have some friends, not a lot but I suppose I have to admit she does have a few. She’s convinced all the neighbours think she’s a bit sad because she doesn’t have any family to visit so she was extra pleased that the neighbours would be able to see the extra car on the drive and know that she wasn’t a lonely old bat after all. Guess what... when Yvonne and George arrived, all the neighbours were out...every single one of them but as soon as Yvonne and George left they all came home again...I thought that was very funny, Nix not so much 🤣🤣🤣 Today we went to the park and stopped for breakfast as promised.  Nix chose a veggie sausage roll and assumed it would be a sausage in a bread roll as it was breakfast time. What turned up was not a sausage in a roll but a sausage roll which apparently is different. A sausage in a roll you eat for breakfast, a sausage roll you eat for your lunch or tea

A Trip to a Pillbox...

Image
We’re waiting for visitors at the moment and Nix is a bit over excited to be welcoming friends into our home. I’m excited too, so excited I’m afraid I might have dug up a bit of soil by the fence again. Nix isn’t talking to me at the moment, I can’t think why as it’s only the same old plant and it can’t like it there, it’s too shady! We didn’t exactly have breakfast this morning but we did have coffee at a new caravan cafe by the airport...they do lemon drizzle cake but we didn’t have time to stop because we had to get ready. Getting ready means that Nix has to actually do some cleaning and tidying. She hasn’t really done much during lockdown as there’s been no one to see the mess...except moi 😱 We visited an old world war 2 pillbox and watched the planes and helicopters...they are quite noisy and they often fly over our house. They’re only propellor jobbies so we don’t mind too much. I’m a bit annoyed because I like to walk down by the pillboxes but now they’ve decided to make it a
