We Nearly Missed My Groom 😱

Image
iPad D day is Friday so until then Nix is dictating very very slowly so there are no mistakes because she can’t edit them. If this blog is complete gibberish you’ll know why πŸ™‚ This morning we had an early walk before a short rest, and then we had another walk before the cafΓ©. We had five new people at the cafΓ©, which was fantastic including one man who was just passing and thought he’d have a look inside the church.  It was lovely that Chris and Richard from church stayed for a cuppa and thank you to Joy and Jenny for helping out.  Nix was having heart failure this morning because she thought she’d missed my groom yesterday. There was some confusion with the date, but thankfully I am still going on Friday. It’s a week of pampering because Nix is getting her haircut tomorrow. It’s a good job I don’t eat the turkey mince any longer or she wouldn’t be able to go. I should of course continue to go because my hair is more important. Nix is finding it really difficult to write the blo

The iPad Has Finally Gone Kaput πŸ€”

The iPad has finally bitten the dust and so this might be quite a short blog otherwise Nix’s head might explode 🫣 We had quite a long walk this morning, right up to the old fort at the end of the boardwalk so we could watch the shingle shifters in what should be their last week. We wanted to wave them off and say goodbye and hopefully not see them again for a while. We watched them load up each truck and set off towards Lancing and then we came home. Nix has been taking it easy this afternoon, sitting down and watching TV. I had to put on one of my best stares to even get her up off the sofa, but eventually we did get to our local recreation ground. It’s by the river and there’s a little wood there, so it wasn’t too bad, but I prefer to go a bit further afield really. I found something very interesting in the bushes and refused to let go of it. In the end, Nix tricked me and managed to get it and said it was disgusting and that I would be ill if I ate it. We still don’t know what

Watch Out There’s a Lighted Candle In The House 🫣

Well here we are again, end of the week or beginning depending on which human you speak to. The days are all the same to me, as long as I get at least four walks I shall be very happy. Not such an early start this morning so had a bit of a lay in πŸ™‚ We then headed to the beach for a pre church walk up the boardwalk. When I say walk, what I really mean is trot, I don’t actually do walking. We had a bit of a rest when we got home. I had a little nap in one of my beds and then we headed for church. It was very crowded this morning and it was Derek’s birthday so everyone sang happy birthday to him…I didn’t join in 🫒 Nix took a candle to get it blessed but I should much prefer that she doesn’t light candles at home because knowing her she’ll forget it, and burn the place down. It was a present from Catherine and Barney and it came all the way from Ethiopia. It will look very nice sitting on the coffee table, not alight πŸ™ This afternoon we went for a walk down by the river, the bit that

A Trip To Lancing Today Via Brooklands Park πŸ™‚

Remember when Nix and I got soaked by a van driver when he drove through a deep puddle of water. Well we were walking down the road yesterday and she saw the van parked on a building site. In we went and she asked the worker nearest to it if the same person always drove it. He asked Nix why she wanted to know. I thought that was a bit of a cheek but Nix thought it was quite funny. She told the man in no uncertain terms what would happen if he did it again...to anyone. They both laughed and he promised never to do it again. I didn’t think it was that funny, I was the one who got most of the water that night, I’d have liked to poop on his shoes.  The shingle shifters aren’t working today so we thought we’d drive over to Lancing to see where they’d been dumping all the stones. We stopped off on the way at the Salvation Army charity shop to drop off all our king size bed linen. As you know Nix was getting more and more annoyed with the king size duvet so she’s changed it for a double. I’m

Cuppa At Jackie’s Today ☕️

We’re a bit late today, sorry but we’ve had quite a lot on. We started out very early, while it was still dark in fact. I had to stay on my lead on the beach because Nix didn’t remember to put my flashing collar on. Consequently I didn’t do a poo because I like my freedom to find a suitable place and that can take some time. I did decide to do my poo on the way over to church while Nix was carrying my bed…that will teach her to forget my flashing collar. She couldn’t put the bed down because the pavement was wet so she dropped the lead and went and placed the bed on a post and got back before I’d finished. I was almost a free Beardie but not quite. Nix has been washing my pink bed because she says the grey one is simply too fat and heavy to carry around…hmm I think she’s confusing it with herself…only joking 🀣 Anyway she says it makes her arm ache so she’d prefer to take the thinner one. Luckily we bumped into Barney on the way back and he carried it home for us πŸ™‚ I am now expected

Rita Came To Visit πŸ™‚

Image
Do you know we go to the beach at lots of different times and those shingle shifters are always there.  Tomorrow we might drive up to Lancing to see exactly where they’re putting all our shingle. We don’t mind but we just wish they’d hurry up. They were there yesterday afternoon and again this morning and guess what, this morning they waved at us, like we’re old friends 🀣 I suppose it’s better than the houses falling into the sea πŸ€” Rita came to visit this morning which was very exciting. I like her a lot but once she and Nix get together they do like to sing and dance…it’s quite painful to be in the same room so I took myself off to bed. They said a prayer for me but it was basically for me to stop barking when they were trying to talk 🀣 We all went for a walk in Buckingham Park which was very nice but neither of them were dressed for the mud so we didn’t get that far. Nix forgot her hat and her gloves so she was moaning about the cold and to be honest, it was a bit nippy. I do fee

Not Much Happening Today, Bit Boring Actually πŸ™„

I am apparently being a little more demanding than usual. I think asking for five walks instead of four isn’t too much really and anyway I should add that it’s not working so well thus far πŸ˜• We have been over to the vets today to collect my antibiotics, Nix says they cost half the price of an iPad…she’s obsessed 🀣 Before you all rush to your keyboards to suggest buying on line Nix has already done this. Yes it is cheaper but by the time she’s paid for the prescription and the postage it’s not hugely cheaper…she says. Of course the real reason is that if she orders them on line she has to sort out the insurance herself and she hates forms. She says her brain stops working each time she sees one so she’d rather let the vets do it along with the rest of my claim. P I have been wearing my blue jumper that Judith sent me to keep me warm when Nix is too mean to put the heating on. I was so snug this morning I wouldn’t let her take it off and I wore it to the vets where it was greatly adm

Nix’s iPad Has Gone Berserk πŸ™„

Image
Nix’s iPad has gone beserk, it’s quite funny really. The keyboard moved itself to the middle of the screen and Nix couldn’t move it back because you have to put pressure on the screen and it’s not very responsive…bit like moi apparently. Also she’s typing away and suddenly the whole paragraph is highlighted so when she types the next letter it deletes the whole thing. It’s a good job I can remember what was said and then she can type it all out again πŸ˜‡ At our vet there is a very nice lady called Donna who looks after the insurance claims. It used to take them about three weeks to put the claim in which isn’t very good is it. Now  Nix tells Donna when there’s a claim and she puts it in the same day which is very good. Petplan have already messaged us to say it’s in hand and so Nix should have her money in a couple of days. I have suggested she go out and buy a new iPad before she has a complete nervous breakdown. At the moment there is so much masking tape holding it together she can’

Mill Hill To Avoid The Mud πŸ™‚

Image
It’s been very cold today and I even wore Judith’s blue jumper in bed last night. Nix doesn’t like the heating on at night because she gets too hot but now I don’t sleep on her bed I need something to keep me warm. My blue jumper is perfect and I was very snug…Nix will take a photo tonight. We went up to Mill Hill today because Nix thought there would be less mud than if we walked on lower ground. That worked really well except the car park was covered in this weird white mud. It felt a bit like cement and I thought my toes were going to stick together. We think it had something to do with it being chalk.  Nix has supposedly been catching up on TV programmes this afternoon and also The Archers. I think she’s actually been asleep for most of the time because every time I popped my head round the corner she was very quiet. She did iron the tablecloths for the cafΓ© tomorrow but she’s not done a lot else. She says she likes being retired, she can do what she wants. Well I beg to differ th

No Church Today 🫒

First of all the best news. Bron my vet called today with my flush results. They are very very good I’m pleased to say. My creatinine is the lowest it’s ever been which is good and is now in range. My platelets are fine too and I had a negative bacterial culture so everything is looking very good indeed. There were a couple of crystals but that’s normal for me and nothing to worry about so all in all I am a very healthy lad. I will be taking antibiotics for one month just to keep me healthy.  Yesterday evening we went down to the beach for sunset. It’s a really low tide so lots of sand to walk on which is very nice. In another couple of days we’ll get the low tide in the mornings so Nix and I can catch the sunrise then. When the tide is low in the mornings we often get the horses come to visit. I like it when they come, I like to watch them canter along the sand. Nix loves it too because she used to ride horses when she was younger. I found a photo of her going over a jump, she was on

Cold and Crispy in Brooklands Park

Image
Crispy crunchy start to the day, Nix was freezing but I quite liked it. I have plenty of coats to keep me warm so no complaints here πŸ™‚ Nix discovered she had a hole in her jacket pocket yesterday when she very nearly lost her phone out of it. It’s a good job I decided to do a poo just as it fell out or she wouldn’t have noticed. She decided she could sow the hole up herself, I mean how difficult could it be she said. I was quite impressed I have to say, quite a neat job but unfortunately there was just one rather large problem. She should have checked the lining first as once it was sown up she realised she’d sown half of her belongings into the the coat. So, inside the lining of the cost now is…one roll of poo bags, one lip salve and about £2.50 🀣  This afternoon we have been to Brooklands Park. They have built new paths now so we are able to walk around it without getting muddy. I met a Maltese called Archie, he was well grumpy, kept throwing himself at me growling. Nix told the o

Devil’s Dyke Today, Too Many Cows πŸ˜•

Today is cold and sunny, I liked it very much. We started the day with a very early morning walk before church and I wore my flashing collar so we could go on the beach. There were quite a few dogs out and it was only 6.45am. I like to have a drink from a puddle of water at the end of our road but it was frozen solid. We got home, Nix had some breakfast and then we set off across the footbridge to St Mary’s. Nix took my new bed with us this time. She was going to send it back but has decided that as it’s a bit floppy it’s perfect for carrying across the bridge. I think it’s quite a bit heavier than the cheap pink one she bought and I could hear there was some complaining going on. It is actually very comfortable in a tight fit sort of way…I might sleep in it at home now.  This afternoon we have been to Devils Dyke. We weren’t able to go on either of our favourite walks as there were cows everywhere. Nix won’t go anywhere near them as she insists they can be very grumpy and have seriou
