The Adventures of Fripp

 I’ve had a very busy day but still no ice cream!!! This morning I posed on the cliff edge for you just to brighten up your day and get your adrenaline going.  I have perfected the fake poopie because Bear’s dad always gives me a treat after  I’ve done one so I just pretend to go behind a rock and then run up to him and he gives me the treat...I got four this morning 😇 Later on in the morning we went to Southwick Hill with my friend Honey who lives across the road. Nix was so busy talking she didn’t see me roll in the cows’ thingy stuff which made me smell great. Nix didn’t think so and neither did honey’s mum and neither did the people in the garden centre where we went afterwards. They like to stroke me when we go in there but Nix was going round warning everyone not to... I was deprived of my stokes as well as the ice cream...it’s simply not good enough.  PS no need to panic about the cliff edge...it’s not really a cliff, just a little rock that I could jump up on 🤣

 So where shall I start... I think my continuing exasperation at the clearing of the throat early in the morning when I am trying to sleep. I thought jumping off the bed and sitting in the garden glaring might do the trick but oh no...Nix continues to do it...it’s very annoying! We have had a very busy day today but might I add there has been no ice cream. Nix says it’s too cold for ice cream and I should be happy with my turkey mince...well I’m not, I wanted an ice cream. I’m about to message My friends Spud and Loki as we are meeting them on Sunday for a walk and I’m sure they get ice cream so Nix will be put to shame 🤣 I sank into a sink hole on the beach this morning, three of my legs got caught. I wasn’t bothered, Nix nearly had a heart attack.  There were horses too and Bear had to go on the lead because he chases them...I do not and everyone was commenting on how well behaved I was 🙂 We’ve been to the river this afternoon.  I was a very good boy on the beach this morning. There was a snarling Jack Russell and I really wanted to flatten him but Nix said if I did I wouldn’t get my doggy ice cream today. Now the thing is it’s now the middle of the afternoon and I still haven’t had it. Nix says it’s because it is raining and  I can have it tomorrow.  We went to the station to pick up our friend Beth but we didn’t go in because Nix said it was too cold and we could sit in the car and wait. I liked seeing Beth again, she gave me cuddles and brought Nix flowers and made her laugh. We all had lunch together and now Beth has gone home and we’ve been to the park and got very wet. We were supposed to go to the garden centre but Nix was too lazy so we’ve come home and I’ve had my lunch and gone to bed. Sorry we’ve not been very intersting today, that will be Nix’s fault...she will try and do better tomorrow.

 Nix’s friend Jeannie came down from London to visit and they’ve not stopped talking all day. Mostly of course it was about moi and then Jeannie started reading my book out loud and Nix was laughing a lot. That’s a bit weird I think, like laughing at your own jokes. Jeannie says I’m very scathing about Nix and I’m not sure but I think this is a good thing 🤔 Anyway we met at one of my favourite places and went for a lovely walk. We were late because Nix had been checking the time on the house phone but she’d not put that forward since we changed the clocks. I think she drove too fast, she hates being late I know but I’m thinking...cataracts 😱 This afternoon we went for a walk on the beach but by the big houses so that Jean and Nix could have a nose in the gardens. Nix and Jean got very excited over a flowerpot man and Nix was walking around going, “Flobalobalobalob” and then creasing up laughing...very strange, well stranger than normal.  It’s very sunny today but it’s very cold too. I had a visit from Bess who belongs to Nix’s friend Trish. It’s the first time I’ve met Bess and she is very nice. She came from the Dogs Trust when she was a puppy. I thought she was very well behaved though she did try to steal my toys though I didn’t mind...much 🙂 After they left we went to the river and it was much warmer. The coffee van wasn’t there though just like the lemon drizzle wasn’t there yesterday. It’s not good enough humans, it’s only a bit cold, Nix needed her hot chocolate to keep her warm.  Tomorrow our friend Jeannie is coming from London to visit and we are meeting at Southwick Hill. On Wednesday Beth is coming down from London too. On Thursday we are going next door to see our neighbours Jackie and Peter. I love Jackie because she sat with me one evening when Nix had to go out and we also had Christmas lunch there which was very nice too.   Busy busy day today! I like it when Nix has an early morning Zoom thingy because I only get a quick walk and I know she feels guilty. As soon as the Zoom thingy finishes it’s easy peasy to get her out on a really decent walk. Today we had the woods, the recreation ground, the beach and a stop off at the Doughnut Hut.  I met quite a few new friends in the wood and we met a lady who had four dogs. She left her poo bags in the car so it’s a good job I always place mine out of reach so Nix had plenty of spare ones.  Nix said it was chaos on the walk and I was quite badly behaved. It wasn’t my fault, I didn’t start it, it was one of hers. It mounted some dog and didn’t get told off so I thought it was worth a chance to mount the one of hers who had done the mounting, sort of putting it in its place. It didn’t mind, just stood there growling 🤣 I got hauled off and I was quite good for a while but then I just couldn’t resist mounting the big brown dog. Unfortunately she fell over and I lan

 It’s Saturday today you know so we’ve been into town to look at the shops. All the humans are out shopping now it’s allowed and everyone was having coffee outside. There was a piano with wheels on it, I didn’t like it 😱 The restaurant at the end of our road has got shelters for people to sit in so they don’t get too cold. Soon they will be able to sit inside as long as they don’t get too close to each other. Nix says life is getting back to normal but not sure how ‘normal’ Nix’s life is 🤣🤣🤣 When I said yesterday that Nix ate all the prawn toasts, that wasn’t exactly true...she did save me just a bit.  She said to please ignore the dirty fingers, that was the planting of the Sweet Peas.  Can I just say that I definitely don’t like the plant down the side of the house so I dug it up. I don’t understand what’s so difficult to understand about that, if Nix keeps planting it I shall dig it up again, it’s dead anyway 🤭 Lemon drizzle tomorrow and possibly doughnuts on the way home 👏🏼

 We got an early walk on the beach this morning before Nix’s Zoom thingy. I did an easy peasy ‘Spot the Beardie’ for you because you might be a bit bored like us.  We had a good walk later on to the Lancing Ring which was surprising really considering Nix hasn’t stopped moaning about her thighs and how much they hurt when she walks...it’s all to do with the planting of the Sweet Peas apparently. She says she’s too old for kneeling and stretching at the same time...agreed.  Good job she doesn’t need to kneel and stretch for my walks though the picking up of the poopies did cause some discomfort 🤣 I’ve got a visitor on Monday, a lady dog called Bess. I think I’m going to like her though I shall probably ignore her like I always do at first.   Nix has just done herself some prawn toasts for her lunch and eaten them all 😱

 I’ve had three walks today already and it’s only just gone lunchtime. That’s mainly because Nix needed to renew her driving licence and when she tried to do it on the website thingy it didn’t like her. She found out that there was a post office where they would do everything for you even taking the photograph. We drove all the way there and when we got there the man looked at Nix and asked her if she was applying to renew an over 70 licence.  When Nix said she was he said she didn’t need the photo and could just put the form in the post.  I didn’t mind, got a lovely long drive and stopped off for doughnuts too 🙂 This afternoon Nix has planted her sweet peas but the kneeling didn’t do her knees any good she says so she was a bit stiff when we went to the park. We did have an okay walk there but there weren’t many potential friends to meet, it was a bit quiet. Her knees are okay now so I’m expecting another two walks before I go to bed and that will be five...that’s a record 👏  Nix l

 If it’s okay with everyone we won’t be writing much of a blog today. I can send you a video of me with a ball that I found on the beach this morning.  Nix is very sad this afternoon because we have just been to see Rog, my dog father and one of Nix’s best friends. He is very poorly and things don’t look good for him at the moment. Nix prayed for him and he held his cross which is made from an olive tree in Bethlehem. We are both hoping that the prayers will work and Rog will have a miracle.  Nix asks that you all stay safe and we’ll be back tomorrow xxx

 Apparently I woke Nix up last night because I was dreaming really loudly and kicking my legs around. She had fallen asleep in front of Made in Chelsea anyway so she should have been happy to be woken up to catch the end 🤣 Anyway it’s pay back time because trying to sleep on the same bed as her is a nightmare. She’s very restless and has a habit of drawing her legs up to her chest and then lashing out with them. I tell you, I take my life in my hands sleeping with her and unbelievably I’ve just been chucked out of the main bedroom because I was digging up the duvet. What am I meant to do when it’s so flat and uncomfortable. I like it all rucked up and lumpy and all I was doing was trying to get comfortable. Nix can be so picky sometimes, she says it was an expensive duvet cover and I was ripping it...so dramatic 🙄 We’ve been to the woods and the hill and I bumped into a big butch dog with a muzzle on.  Okay I admit it...there was a bit of a humping incident this morning. It wasn’t my fault because I was on the lead. Nix saw Otto the black Labrador coming down the beach and I am always put on my lead when he’s around because apparently I am unable to behave myself.  Nix said I was over excited because Humphrey and Albert had turned up and I was too pleased to see them. Anyway as you know, Otto only has three legs now so Nix said the humping is not allowed any more. Well if it’s not allowed she should keep an eye on things instead of standing around gossiping. Otto was right in my face so I did launch myself at him. He didn’t seem to mind actually and just stood there. There was a bit of growling going on, not sure if it was me or him but then of course Nix turns round and catches me in the act.
