The Adventures of Fripp

  Mud, mud, glorious mud, nothing quite like it for cooling the blood...apparently. So someone should tell Nix that because her blood is definitely not cooling, she is not happy about the mud 🤣 The day started off well with a lovely low tide and a bit of a sunrise. I had a good time running in the sea because it was very shallow and calm...I’m not allowed when it’s rough incase I get swept out to sea. Do you like the photo of me coming out of the sea, I think I look like I’ve just swum over from Honfleur!  I never did get out of the way of the TV yesterday but I still got my walk to the woods today. I can do what I like in this house and still get my treats. It was really muddy and the sea was too rough for me to go in and get clean so I’ve brought the mud home with me. Tomorrow morning will be a calm sea again so I shall go in and get clean again...until then I’m banned from Nix’s new duvet cover. 

 It was a bit wet and windy this morning but we still went to the beach.  When we got home Nix settled down to watch a movie on her new Sky box but nothing was working. She had this new viewing card thingy which had to match her Sky box thingy and it didn’t but to give her her due, she did persevere until it worked. Then she had to match the box up with the internet thingy...phew, you humans do make life difficult for yourselves. Why don’t you just go out for a nice walk and then come home and go to bed until the next walk...who needs TV.  This afternoon I was very happy that Nix came and joined me on the bed in the spare room. I liked that until guess what...she turned the TV on. Well I’m not having that so I just sat in front of it so she couldn’t see. I thought she might give up first and turn it off but no chance. She wanted to watch something called  Bulletproof and she was very determined. I had to give up in the end and go in the other room for a bit of peace and quiet... that T

 Today is soooo much better than yesterday because the sun is sort of out. It didn’t start off so well because Nix wasn’t feeling too good. She said she woke up feeling sick because she’d dreamt about someone eating a really greasy bacon sandwich. She’s a perky pescatarian so that didn’t go down too well. Then she decided that maybe she’d only dreamt about the really greasy bacon sandwich because she was already feeling sick in her sleep. Seriously...you see...this is what I have to put up with. Anyway she had her early morning Zoom thingy and she felt better after she’d chatted with her friends.  Now because I hadn’t done the poopies on our first walk round the block Nix took me out again but I still didn’t do the business as Nix puts it. That meant of course I got to go out again a bit later and Nix thought she’d better take me for a good long walk down the river bank.   Another gloomy day on the beach this morning. We didn’t go too far, it was a bit miserable so we came home and played games in the house. Nix calls it training but I’m not sure whether giving me a treat when I jump on top of her would be considered ‘training’ by most. I’m not complaining you understand but it’s no surprise is it that I go off the rails every now and again.  Nix has discovered she can get the ITV Hub thingy on her TV and she’s watched the entire series of something called The Bay. It’s finally finished and she still hasn’t a clue what’s been going on and who did what...she seemed to enjoy it though 🙂 She’s having a Zoom tea and cakes thingy later on so may as well make myself nice and comfortable in the spare room which is my favourite place to sleep during the day.  Nix has just booked our tickets to Mars in 2026...I’m really looking forward to that.  Bumped into Bollow on the boardwalk this morning, I might write a song about that because it sounds a bit poetic doesn’t it. Bumped into Bollow on the Boardwalk  🎵🎵🎵 Bollow goes to the same church as me and there’s not a lot of room in the aisle when he stretches out. That could be part of my song because people would be very interested in that... Nix is saying no they wouldn’t! I’m  just a bit bored now I’m home and we’ve had to wait in for the new Sky box to arrive. Nix was panicking about getting all the cables in the right bits so she took lots of photos of what goes where. She thought that was very clever until the new box arrived and all the plug thingies were different colours. Anyway she finally got everything plugged in and guess what...she can’t find the viewing card. Sky told her to put it somewhere safe which she says she did...so safe she can’t remember where she put it. She says she definitely put it on the shelf but it’s not there so obviously she didn’t.  We had a slightly longer walk this morning because Nix had to go and search for a bag of poo she accidentally dropped on the beach yesterday. We’d got all the way home before she realised she didn’t have it and she was too lazy to back then and look for it. If she hadn’t gone to ‘have a word’ with some builders who were driving their digger thingies over the beach to get to the back of the house they were working on it would never have happened. Our beach you see is a ‘local nature reserve’ with plants that have taken a long time to grow so Nix says they’re definitely not allowed to do that. We didn’t mention the fact that I like to eat some of the plants because that’s more of a natural phenomenon...bit like me really 🙂  My turkey mince arrived safely this morning and I already have Nix cooking it. I like to make sure we don’t let the freezer contents run down too much...just in case.  Mind you we do have the two years worth of tinned food that Nix ordered when the virus thingy fir

 A very crispy start to our day. Miraculously Nix managed to get from one end of the boardwalk to the other without slipping over. I myself had a bit of a funny turn, not sure what happened, just didn’t want to walk any further. Nix was going to take me home but I made a miraculous recovery as soon as my lead went on and we were able to finish out walk. When we got home I was still a bit ‘clingy’ as Nix puts it so I fell asleep with my head in her lap. Nix did a video of me and she said I make funny noises when she rubs my chin. I’ve listened and I can’t hear them...can you?  This afternoon we’ve been to the Devil’s Dyke...yippee, I had such a good time. Nix thought there might be lots of humans there getting their daily exercise but it wasn’t too bad. I met a mad Westie who wanted me to play. I do not do that so I just ignored him and hoped he’d go away. He even got in the way when I was posing for my photo on the top of the hill, you can probably see his tail 🙂 Nix is feeling fine t

 So a lazy day today and Nix and I are taking it easy. We had a restless night with Nix being too cold. She put the electric blanket on and then her legs were too hot but she was still cold.  No chance of me getting any sleep either with her tossing and turning and plumping up the pillows.  In the end I got off the bed and had a good old dig in the toilet. That didn’t go down too well so in the end I took myself off to the spare room for a bit of peace. Nix thinks it was a vaccine reaction but actually it was just because she doesn’t have a proper winter duvet on the bed and it was very cold last night.  This morning we went on our usual beach walk and it was still very cold. The sky was very angry and I was a bit angry too because I was promised snow and all I got was rain. I did however smell a tasty fish right down the beach and by the time Nix got to me I’d eaten a lot of it. She really told me off because I’d been so sick the other day.  Well apparently I am completely back to normal today, well as normal as I ever get says Nix. I think I gave her a bit of a scare yesterday because I really didn’t feel very well at all...I was very sick. I woke up this morning feeling much better and even ate my breakfast.   We went for a walk round the block at lunchtime instead of our usual walk because Nix was going to get her vaccination and she didn’t want to be late. Well she wasn’t late was she, she got there one hour early and they weren’t open. She said it was my fault, she was so worried about leaving me apparently that she wasn’t concentrating properly...does she ever 🙄  She decided to drive back to sit with me for an hour and then go back but she got stuck in traffic and had to go back to the hospital anyway. They were very nice and let her go in straight away. I wasn’t left alone for very long and I was very good...don’t know what all the fuss is about really.  Best bit of the story is that the doctor asked Nix a few que

 We had a very quick walk round the block this morning because Nix was zooming at 8am. We then went for our proper walk much earlier than normal and Nix actually thought that I might get confused with walk times. She actually thought she was going to be able to laze around all day just because she took me to Southwick Hill...I think not.   She miraculously managed to avoid all the bramble hoops too, just the one near miss which nearly took her out. We’d only been back two hours when my internal body clock told me it was time for the next walk. Nix tried to get out of it by playing with me on the bed. She got a bit too excited and then she pushed me off the bed. She says it was me who was too excited and I fell off the bed. It’s up to you folks, I know the truth! I’ve been a bit poorly this afternoon, I’ve eaten a lot of grass and been quite sick. I do feel a bit better now and I’m having a little rest in the garden. It’s very sunny here so I’m not too cold or anything.  Nix’s replaceme

Good news, Apple are sending Nix a brand new iPad. The first one she had was an Air 2 and that got replaced with an Air 3 because the screen cracked. The new one kept shutting down so now she’s getting another replacement.  She’s hoping it will be an Air 4 in Rose Gold.. .fat chance  🤣 We set out this morning for our walk on the beach but had to turn back half way because it was hailing and very cold. We have been back to the beach this afternoon and we did walk for a while but it was very windy and cold so it wasn’t very enjoyable. We were also worried for some dogs on the beach. Last week a man let his dog, a cockapoo go too close to the sea. He got swept out and his owner tried to save him and they were both lost. It upset Nix a lot because it’s where we used to walk in Hove and I was never allowed near the sea if it was rough. Nix was mad that people were still letting their dogs near the waves today.  It was too cold for Nix to take her gloves off for long so not many photos but

 Guess what...Nix is having her vaccination on Saturday. I shall have to stay on my own but I don’t mind if it helps to keep her safe. She’s having the Oxford one too so she doesn’t have to sit around for 15 minutes to make sure she doesn’t drop dead or in medical terms have any side effects.  We haven’t really done much today, it hasn’t stopped raining again and is very windy. We did go to the park and Nix took a couple of photos but it was very muddy.  As there are only two photos of moi I thought you might like to see one of my dinners, there’s enough for two weeks.  We still don’t have the iPad back and Nix is struggling to see on the phone so we’ll keep it short today. We’re both very bored but we hope that things will get back to normal soon.  Nix is traumatising over what to wear for the vaccination as all her sleeveless stuff has been put away for the winter.  She is also anxious as to whether she will be able to park when she gets there.  We are without iPad, this is not good. Nix’s eyes don’t work very well at the best of times but watching her trying to type on the phone is exhausting, so much so I think I might have to have a lie down.  It’s been raining all day and it’s very windy so we haven’t been for a proper walk. I saw the fox in someone’s garden and that was the most exciting thing to have happened apart from my turkey mince arriving. Nix got extra rations this week because she’s been having to use some from my freezer. This is because since I’ve been off my antibiotics I have been eating lots more.  I eat at least 1000gms every day which Nix says is twice as much as I should have but what can I say, I love my turkey mince with veg and pasta. I still weigh the same as I did when I was a healthy young Beardie...some of us can eat as much as we like without gaining weight...some of us can’t 🤣🤣🤣 Oh yes I also took delivery of my ‘Wild Salmon Oil from Alaska’ which I have with my breakfast but there has been n
