The Adventures of Fripp

  So,this blog was going to start with how well behaved I’ve been and what a good night we had but there might have been a bit of an incident this afternoon at Jackie’s house but we can talk about that later.  Oh hold on, Nix says we can talk about it now 🤭 Well we went into Jaclie’s house for a cup of tea this afternoon and I was feeling a little restless or nosey as Nix refers to it. I was wandering around by the Christmas tree and I suddenly had the urge to do a wee. I didn’t do it up the tree, just a bit of the wall and skirting board but Nix was not happy. She said it was disgraceful behaviour, pushing my luck apparently and that next time she goes in I shall have to stay home alone. Honestly it wasn’t very much, just a few drops but you’d have thought it was like the Niagara Falls the way Nix has been going on about it. I had to stay on my lead and Nix had to clean it up 🤣 Before we went next door we went down the river. We stopped for hot chocolate and Nix said it was like bei

 To say I’m in the bad books would be putting it mildly. I fell asleep in the spare room last night and didn’t wake up when Nix went to bed. It’s not my fault if she decided to get a ‘tickle in her throat’ in the middle of the night and wake me up coughing. Yes I know I threw myself at the French doors but what’s a chap meant to do. I thought I’d made it quite clear, I don’t want to be in the same house as the coughing, I don’t like it. In the end she got out of bed and came charging  into the spare room to tell me that I couldn’t go out, it was too wet and back to bed she went. Well if I can’t go out through the French doors then I’m going to have to dig my way out. Out of bed she got again and ordered me out of the spare room. I tried to get at the shower tray but I was ordered out of the bathroom and then do you know what…she went back to bed and shut me out! She obviously felt bad after a bit and opened the door but I stayed in my bed in the lounge. I know she hates it when I’m not

 We had a very good night last night, I wasn’t woken up once by Nix. I was a bit hot though because she has this electric blanket thingy to keep her feet warm. It’s not my fault if I like to lie with my head down at the bottom which is the bit that gets quite hot. Nix often falls asleep with it on, well most nights actually because she does suffer with cold feet, dreadful circulation 🥶 I end up having to get off the bed and sleep on the floor because I’m too hot. Nix says I should just move nearer to the top of the bed which is cool but then I take my life in my hands because Nix is a very restless sleeper and those elbows can do a lot of damage if you’re too close 🤣 We’re definitely not compatible sleepers 🙄 We’ve been to the beach a couple of times today. Nix says it’s too miserable to go far so we spent a happy half hour watching the human nutters trying to get out to sea and balance on their boards. The tide was coming in, there were quite a few failures… While I think about it,

 It’s stopped raining 👏👏👏  We had a very long walk this morning after a very good night’s sleep mainly due to the fact that Nix didn’t wake me up coughing. I think Nix thought because we were out later we would be going out later this afternoon…that would be a no! She tried to ignore me, the staring wasn’t working and she said she was watching a Christmas film. She also said we weren’t due to go out for at least another hour. Nope…not true, we always go out at the same time and it makes absolutely no difference that we’d only been home for an hour. It was hard work I can tell you but in the end I had to bring out the big guns…my Meerkat. He helped me achieve success as she said she couldn’t bear to see him mutilated any more and if I put him down we could go out…result 😇 We decided to go to Hove. As you know Nix has been trying to get her fairy lights which the Post Office had lost. Anyway they eventually turned up back at our old address even though they should have been delivered

  Well, first things first, the smoked haddock went in the bin. I was and am speechless 🤭 Nix said it tasted disgusting and must’ve been off. Thing is Nix’s tastebuds aren’t all that they used to be and things don’t always taste the same to her but she said she didn’t want to risk it and she didn’t want me to risk it so I didn’t mind too much. I did get one of the Bartram’s buffalo treat instead so that was good. Nix found my hair slide that she lost, it was in the pocket of her rain mac. It was falling out of my hair in the rain yesterday and so she took it out and put it in her pocket…and then forgot. So today I went out looking very smart and in a few days when the new slides arrive and I shall have a different colour for each day of the week. This morning it was pouring with rain when we went out. Nix only waited for me to do the poopies and then we came home. It was a very short walk so by lunchtime I was nagging to go out again.  Personally I can’t see how difficult it can be to take out my hair slide and remember where you put it. I’ve had to go out this afternoon with a hair clip that is missing a heart. This is because Nix damaged it when she wore it in her own hair when all the hairdressers were closed. It’s a good job we have some new hair slides ordered otherwise I should look very untidy indeed.  We As you know we missed all the Christmas services because of Nix’s cough. I had particularly wanted to go to the nativity play because Bollo was playing the donkey. We were going to go to the service this morning but Nix woke up coughing again. She said we couldn’t go because it would disturb everyone but I think it had more to do with the fact it was raining. Didn’t make any difference because we went out once it stopped and we were on our way home and it started to rain really hard and we got very wet indeed.   It will be a short blog today because it’s Christmas Day and Nix has had too many Proseccos to properly understand iinstructions. We’d like to say thank you to the Bartrams for inviting us to have Christmas lunch with them, we had a really good time…well Nix did, I was asleep 😇  I think everyone was suitably impressed with the speed at which I disembowelled the Meercat and I should just like to say that I was very brave with the Christmas crackers. They didn’t scare me at all in fact I didn’t wake up once during the humans’ lunch. Nix will tell you it’s because Catherine took out the bangy bits but we may never know the truth. I was of course the perfect guest if you don’t count the accidental opening of a present that wasnt meant for me but that could happen to anyone.  Hope you’ve all had a wonderful day and see you all tomorrow 😇

 It’s Christmas Eve so only one more sleep until I get all my presents, well the ones I haven’t accidentally opened already 🤣 Nix and I would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and hope that the new year to come will bring you everything you need. Did you know I shall be twelve next year. When I was 7 a rather horrible ‘specialist’ vet told Nix I would probably only be around for 2-3 more years...how wrong was she. At the time humans were tipping buckets of ice over their own heads, very strange behaviour but all in a good cause I understand. Nix promised that when I make it to 14 she is going to tip a bucket of iced water over that vet’s head…that will be funny 🤣 We’ve been back to Hove today to collect Nix’s parcel. This was not a good experience and there has been a lot of arrggghhhs! We must not forget of course that this is all Nix‘s own fault. If she had concentrated when she ordered then she would’ve noticed that they had our old address. Nix got a text this morning t

 You will notice that there is just the one photo of moi today. This will be because I apparently disgraced myself quite early on on our midday walk down the river. Something smelled very interesting at the bottom of the hill so I shot off down there. Nix overreacted as usual and thought I might go on the road which I would never do…well as long as there wasn’t a cat on the other side but honestly what would a cat be doing at the airport…going on its holidays 🤣🤣🤣  To be fair she did call me quite a few times but that smell was fascinating and I just couldn’t hear her. It was a lot of fuss about nothing if you ask me, not many cars come down that road but Nix said it only takes the one which is true I suppose. When I eventually came back up the hill Nix was very very cross and she put me on my lead and marched me home. I’ve been sent to my room in disgrace but I always sleep in there anyway in the afternoon so not much has changed really. Nix just came in to point out that I’ve never

  Guess what…Nix did not cough at all last night 👏👏👏 She had been warming the summerhouse up all day with a radiator and then I didn’t need it. She did cough this morning but I didn’t mind that because she had slept until nearly 7am and then we went out just in time to catch the sunrise.  Today I have been a very lucky boy and Nix has been a very lucky girl. I got a present from Judith (Ness Keweb) which I was allowed to open because I was so excited when it arrived. I believe it to be a fox though I have only ever seen one in the dark so I’m not too sure. Nix got a present too from Judith of a Beardie to hang on the Christmas tree…it has my name on it of course 🙂 Nix also got a very generous Sainsbury’s voucher from Max Smothers and his mum Jeanette.
