Stay Safe, Love Grandma 🙂

Image
So not much happening on the beach this morning. I ate half a dead fish but that’s about it. I did try to steal the ‘Stay safe, love Grandma’ stuffed toy but I received a threat which is unrepeatable here so decided to leave it on the bench for “others to enjoy” 🙄 We went up to Southwick Hill this afternoon. There were a lot of humans without dogs up there apparently ‘exercising’ hmm... Nix says some humans have gone a bit mad since the virus thingy and do things they wouldn’t normally do like coming on our dog walks. One little girl who didn’t have a dog must have been very scared because when a tiny dog walked up to her she screamed...really really loud, we could hear it right at the top of the hill.  When we got back Nix decided to watch an opera on her iPad. She was wearing her headphones so it was the perfect opportunity to dig the bed up in the spare room without her being able to hear. She’s taken a photo to shame me but I just think others will be impressed. She lost her subt

I did the Poopies on a Dead Bird!

Image
Still no snow but I did do the poopies on a dead bird to cheer Nix up. I think she really enjoyed scraping it off the wings. She said she could feel the feathers through the poo bag...she seemed very excited about that 🤣   There were mad people in the sea and I pee’d on their clothes and then another dog went and pee’d on them too. We both got told off... it could have been worse, I could have done my poopies on them.  🤭 After we got home I had a bit of a sleep but the sun was out and it’s very hard to sleep when Nix is crashing around in the kitchen and you want to go out for another walk. I tried the digging and the staring but nothing worked but then I realised that Nix was preparing my dinners for the week so I did have a little nap. The second she was finished though I was back on duty and she said I was so annoying with the staring we may as well go out for a walk...job done 👏👏👏 We went for a walk by a railway line and when we got there Nix remembered it is where they test

I Survived the Starfish Incident

Image
Well I survived the starfish incident, all that drama ringing the emergency vet when we all know that I can eat anything I like without any consequences.   Everyone thought we would get snow today but we haven’t. I’m a bit disappointed really because I’ve only ever played in the snow a couple of times in nearly 11 years. Best thing is it hasn’t rained either so we have had a lovely walk to Southwick Hill. We went through the woods first and guess what...Nix excelled herself by managing to fall over...from a standstill! She stood to one side to let a lady go past and next thing she was on the floor in the mud. I thought it was very funny because she hasn’t actually hurt herself, she had a very soft landing...in the mud 🤣  You should have been there, one minute she was standing there, next she was down. She blamed it on a tree root but we all know what really happened. She probably turned round too quickly and lost her balance. She’s okay though, no need to worry. You can worry about m

I Ate a Starfish!

Image
Look if I don’t eat my breakfast some mornings that is no excuse to oversleep and go out without at least offering it to me. If this is going to happen on a regular basis then I shall feel the need to eat anything on the beach that’s going. There was a special surprise waiting for me on the beach this morning, a delicacy and my first tasting of a starfish....it was yummy. There were lots on the beach but I could only manage the one. I did have my photo taken with one of the others though. Trouble is when we got home Nix checked and found out it can be toxic. This isn’t a good thing apparently so she had to call the emergency vets and check. They didn’t seem to know but didn’t seem bothered but even so I’ve had Nix checking on me every ten minutes. I am happy to announce that there have been no lasting effects so far 🙂 It hasn’t stopped raining all day so it’s been Christmas movies again. I did get Nix to play with me for a while but we both got bored really quickly. She is dozing in

Storm Bella Arrived!

Image
So storm Bella arrived last night and I slept right through it. All that talk of me probably digging up the shower tray just didn’t happen. In fact it was Nix who was kept awake worrying about the wind and the rain and whether our fairy lights might blow away...I was a good boy 🙂  I did get a bit wet this morning though even though we couldn’t go on the beach because it was too windy. I was however promised a nice long walk when the rain stopped and the sun came out.  After lunch it stopped raining and the sun did come out so there were no excuses. Nix had to check the rules as it was our first proper day in the tier 4 thingy. Apparently taking your dog out is one of the things that’s allowed so off we went. I thought I’d better make the most of it in case it rains again tomorrow so I got Nix lost in the woods. She had to use her phone Bluetooth thingy to work out where we were parked. I took her up lots of muddy hills and she said she thought she’d either die of a heart attack or sli

I’m Putting in a Formal Complaint!

Image
So I’d like to put in a formal complaint...as far as I am aware today is not Sunday. Why then has today been deemed a day of rest by Nix. I got my usual walk on the beach this morning and then nothing. Try as I might Nix is engrossed in Christmas movies. There is far too much on television these days and I might have to make do with only three walks!  Update...my lead is out and we’re off for a walk.  So we got a walk down by the river but the bit where I have to stay on my lead because there are cats in flats. Nix says she doesn’t want me disappearing into one of the blocks like I did when we first moved here. I went in with someone and the door closed behind me. Nix couldn’t get in and I couldn’t get out. The most annoying thing to my mind was I never found the darned cat. Nix wasn’t amused, she had to ring all the bells to get someone to open the door so she could come and get me. She said she thought she was never going to see me again. I shouldn’t have thought she’d have minded a

It’s Christmas Day 👏👏👏

Image
It’s Christmas Day and that’s a very special day. It’s when the baby Jesus was born and it means we can all eat as much as we want without feeling guilty.  First of all we met Bear for an early morning walk. It was very very cold and the boardwalk was icy. It didn’t bode well for Nix staying on her feet but miraculously she did. I think the baby Jesus was watching over her. I was angling for another walk by 10am and miraculously Nix agreed so we set off for the beach to take a Christmas selfie. It was very sunny and lots of people were walking on the boardwalk and they were all wishing us a merry Christmas.  We hadn’t been home long when we were off again. This time to our lovely neighbours Jackie and Peter who live next door. They had invited us both for Christmas lunch and I am very grateful to them because I’d have been stuck with Nix for the whole day otherwise. After we’d been there for a while we all went outside to have a glass of champagne with Jen and Norman who live in the h

We’re in Tier 4...but it’s Christmas Tomorrow 🙂

Image
They’ve put us in the tier 4 thingy but the sun’s out and its nearly Christmas. I am very excited because we’re going next door to our neighbours for Christmas lunch tomorrow. I thought for a minute I might be stuck with just Nix but I wouldn’t have minded really. I expect I shall have my lunch before we go.  Nix got a Christmas  prezzie from Sue Sutton and she loves it. She was supposed to open it tomorrow but was too impatient. It’s a really old book, 1940’s and it’s  called The Adventures of Patch. It’s about a Fox Terrier and it’s a diary just like mine. It’s written my Mrs Patch so feel free to call Nix Mrs Fripp 🤣🤣 Today we have been to an old golf course where it wasn’t too muddy even though it’s rained a lot. Nix wants me nice and clean for our lunch tomorrow but I almost made it to the muddy pond 🤣 Nix sounded very authorative so for once I did as I was told and went back to her...treats were involved.  We went a different way back and had to squeeze through two posts whic

My Turkey Mince Arrived, Nix’s Sprouts didn’t 🤭

Image
So my turkey mince arrived last night in the dark. Nix left it a bit late to book the slot so we had to wait all day for it. I heard the van outside, I have excellent hearing. Nix says it’s a pity I don’t use it when I’m being summoned. She was a bit annoyed because lots of her stuff was missing. Apparently all the mad humans have emptied the store again and Nix was not happy...there were no sprouts!!!  The virus thingy has got really bad again and where we live has got a lot worse. This means we might not be able to go so far soon so today we had a lovely walk once it had stopped raining. I got to visit the beach and the lagoon but I have to be very careful on the path because we share it with the idiot cyclists. I don’t think that’s what they’re really called but it’s what Nix calls them. She says it doesn’t help that I am incapable of walking in a straight line and why do I have  to  weave from side to side. Well I just like to keep the cyclists on their toes 🤣 Nix got a form this

Mobbed by a Labradoodle

Image
I got mobbed this morning by a fan. She’s  new on the beach and called Belle and she’s a Labradoodle. She was a bit annoying because as you know I like my personal space but as she is so pretty I put up with her adoration.  This morning we got a present from my friend Stuart. I liked it straight away and assumed it was mine to tear to bits but Nix has put it on the Christmas tree and it’s too high for me to reach. Thank you Stuart but can you explain to Nix that it’s mine please.  This afternoon we’ve been back to Hove to pick up the actual king size duvet. Now I can sleep in comfort again and about time too.  We had a walk up the beach, the groyne incident was mildly embarrassing. Nix had managed to climb over most of them but when we got to the last one she should have just accepted defeat instead of trying to clamber over it...most ungainly 🙄The sea was too far in to go round that way so we had to go all the way back and she had to climb over them all again. I keep my distance and
