Devil’s Dyke Today…

Image
You know all the fuss Nix made about her arm on Saturday, well guess what, it’s completely better now, like there was nothing wrong with it in the first place. I am beginning to doubt the sincerity of her situation because you know how she likes to be the centre of attention and she can get just a little envious of my popularity. At least we all got a good nights sleep last night, Nix never budged the whole night and neither did I. I do sometimes wake up in a different bed to the one I went to sleep in, I’m not sure how that happens…Nix says it’s because I’ve got too many beds 🀣 Nix was in very good spirits today so she decided we would go to our most favourite place for a walk. We are further away now so it takes a bit longer to get there but it’s always worth it. Do you know we met two ladies walking and guess how many dogs they had with them…21! Nix was speechless and wanted to take a photo but was too embarrassed to ask in case they thought she was going to report them…word trav

Nix is an Invalid Today, Her Flu Jab Has Really Hurt Her Arm.

Image
I actually feel sorry for Nix today, her arm is really bad where she had the flu injection. She said it felt like she’d dislocated her shoulder and she couldn’t get undressed last night because she couldn’t lift her arm. She was in and out of bed all night, very annoying and so this morning we watched the church service on facebook. There was no way I was taking her to church unwashed and wearing the same clothes as yesterday. God wouldn’t have minded of course but you do have to give a bit of a thought to the congregation. We also got soaking wet on our first walk so we just rested up. The rain stopped by the end of the service so we did go round for coffee afterwards just to see our friends.  Nix is washing all my bed covers today so I am sleeping in my new bed for now. I think they were a bit grim and Nix felt bad for not washing them sooner. Anyway they’re all done and they’ll be dry by tomorrow and I’ll have all my beds back. Tomorrow is Halloween which Nix and I don’t celebrate

Nix Had Her Jabs Today, I Still Got a Ride in the Car πŸ™‚

Image
Early start today because Nix wanted to fit in one more walk just before she went off to have her jabs. She was hoping that I would stay asleep while she was gone and when she came home there was no sign of me so she thought she’d succeeded. I was in fact in my donut bed in the lounge but I was very brave and just carried on sleeping. Nix was very brave too because she had an injection in each arm and the one for the flu did hurt she said. Her arm is really aching now so I expect she’ll be expecting sympathy from me. I told her as long as she can type the blog it will be okay. The nurse who gave the injections called Nix a bleeder…I think that’s quite rude 🀣 Nix didn’t want to drive after her jabs but she did want some Caramel Nibbles from the garage so we did go in the car to Buckingham Park. We called in at the garage on the way home and there were no spaces on the right side of the pump so Nix thought it would be a good idea to go on the other side and stretch the hose across the

Crumpets in Town πŸ˜‹

We got a bit wet again this morning but I don’t mind the rain. I don’t like it when it’s noisy but today it was very quiet…just wet πŸ™‚ We just went up to the fort and back so I wasn’t really that tired. By lunchtime I was keen to go out again and Nix gave in. We walked down the beach away from the BCJ so I was allowed off my lead and we came home via the houseboats. To tell you the truth I do go off my lead most days because Nix says as long as she pays attention she will see the enemy before I do…this is very annoying.  This afternoon we have been out with Jackie and Indie. We walked over the footbridge into town and through the churchyard. Then we stopped off at Teddy’s for tea and crumpets.  Now I have quite a few donut beds I didn’t really need my old bed. It was just a bit too big for our lounge so now Liz the greyhound who lives across the road has got it. She can curl right up in it so I think she likes it. I’m glad it’s gone to a good home. Will you please all be thinking abou

Meditation and Mill Hill Today πŸ™‚

Image
We put the clocks back this weekend and Nix got confused and thought it would be dark when we go to church on a Friday morning. We have a walk on the beach first and she was insisting I would have to wear my flashing collar if I wanted to go off the lead. She says it’s hard enough to keep her eye on me when it’s daylight so the flashing collar is non negotiable πŸ˜• I don’t like it, it’s embarrassing but seeing as how it won’t actually be dark I shan’t need to worry 🀣 I thought you might like to know that I haven’t leaked at all overnight since I have gone out for an extra walk at 10pm. I still wear a belly band though just to be on the safe side. I do seven wees on the way round the block and Nix is always impressed that it is exactly the same amount each time we go. I think Nix is enjoying the late night walks because she can do her star gazing. Last night she saw three planets and her favourite constellation. Sometimes we watch the International Space Station go over and Nix always

Shoreham Airport Today πŸ™‚

Image
It’s been a funny old couple of days. It started with Nix waking up in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago. She said there was a really strong smell, it was a really unpleasant sweet smell. The smell remained all the next day but Nix couldn’t trace it. She went to bed last night and when she woke up this morning the smell had gone completely. We may never know πŸ™‚ No dead fish on the beach this morning but I did find an old bone on the street and carried it almost all the way home. Nix managed to trick me at the last minute by grabbing it when I stopped to eat some grassπŸ˜• We’ve been to the river this afternoon and then to the airport cafΓ© for a cup of tea. We like to watch the planes taking off and landing. Sometimes they only pretend to land and then take off again…it’s called touch and go and it’s practise for them. When Nix saw it for the first time she thought the pilot was in trouble and couldn’t land the plane…she was about to call air traffic control 🀣🀣🀣 We met a

Dogfish For Breakfast Then Widewater Lagoon

We got absolutely soaked yesterday after I wrote my blog. Nix is trying to take me out later before bed to try and help with the leakage situation. By 9pm I wanted to go out and got the stare going. Nix says 10pm would be better but she said she couldn’t concentrate with me staring so we went out at 9.30pm. She decided to make the walk longer so it would be 10pm by the time we got home. Big mistake…the heavens opened. Neither of us had proper waterproofs on and we were a long way from home. The wind was blowing hard and the rain was hitting us in the face, I didn’t like it very much but Nix was even worse, she screamed most of the way home 🀣 Anway it wasn’t worth it because I still leaked a bit but not as much as usual. If I work things right I’ll be getting another walk at 3am in the morning πŸ™‚ Today Nix had to go to church to check something so we decided to park there and walk on to Widewater Lagoon Nature Reserve. I like it there but you have to watch the cyclists. The council

Back to Hove Again Today…

Image
You know my new donut bed, well I went to sleep in it last night and I was still in it this morning…it’s very comfy πŸ™‚ Today we were to drive to Hove so that Nix could put my older donut bed into the laundry. We don’t have a machine that’s big enough and to be honest it was getting just a bit smelly. Just before we left our postman Steve arrived with a package. Guess what, it was more belly bands with extra pads to go inside. These were a gift from Sally Carson and we are very very grateful, you are so kind Sally, thank you very much. I think I have more belly bands than any other dog on earth, almost one for every day of the week. I’m aiming for one donut bed for every day of the week too πŸ€”πŸ€£  While we were in Hove we went for a walk along the promenade and I met some really interesting dogs. One of the dogs was a Beardie called Luna and Nix embarrassed herself by not knowing that she was a Beardie and asked what breed she was. The owner didn’t look that impressed and neither was

I had a very bad night last night and so therefore did Nix. First of all she couldn’t get to sleep and then just as she was dropping off the skies lit up and they were very very noisy. She didn’t hear them but she did hear me trying to dig up the bathroom floor. I was brought back into the bedroom and the bathroom door was closed πŸ˜• It wasn’t long before the skies lit up again and this time I headed for the kitchen. I’m not sure why I have to dig when the skies light up, it just makes me feel better. Anyway this time I had to go on my long lead and Nix goes back to bed with the lead wrapped round her hand so she will wake up if I head off to start digging again. I headed off another couple of times but by then it was almost light anyway and the bright skies had gone away. Nix eventually got up and we went down to the beach but it did rain quite a lot and we got very wet. We decided not to go to church as we were both soaked and so we watched the live stream on Facebook. We also missed
