The Adventures of Fripp

 Well it’s all been happening here since we last spoke. Last night there was a huge water leak down our road caused by the ‘cowboys’ who are laying some cables. Nix rang Southern Water and they said they’d fix it. When we went out this morning it still hadn’t been fixed. Nix was really mad because she said there are people in the world who don’t have enough water to drink and they were letting it run down the drain. She rang back and was told it can take up to 24 hours to fix so ‘not amused’ would be an understatement. She said she bet it didn’t take them 24 hours to release all the sewage into our ocean that they’d just been fined for and she was going to call the newspapers. By the time we got back the whole crew were there, Southern Water vans, highway maintenance vans and a lot of men running around…it got fixed very quickly 🙂 We had a visit from our friend Jill this morning so that was very nice.  I hear a few of you were concerned about Nix’s health situation, well she’s fine today. Let’s not all get carried away, it was just a vaccination. I think she enjoyed all the sympathy which should be kept for moi because I have more serious health problems. Nix says I am a bit of a disaster area health wise and I think that is a good thing. Apparently if my platelets don’t start heading north we might be in a bit of a pickle. Last time this happened to me I had to go on a very high dose of the steroid thingies. It made me very tired and my hair fell out. I also wee’d in places I shouldn’t but that really was not my fault. So… the problem seems to be that I don’t think I can have the steroids again because I have an infection too which is always in my bypass. It’s why I have to go on the antibiotics regularly. Maybe I can have both, Nix should find out but I think she’s too scared to ask. When I go for my next check up one week tomorrow she is going to ask then. Maybe my platelets will

  You know Nix had her booster thingy yesterday, it’s the fourth one. She’s never had any problems and to say she was a little impatient with those who thought they were suffering would not be too much of an exaggeration. This time however it was her turn 🤭 She came home and developed a terrible headache, something she never gets. Her arm was so sore she couldn’t lift it and it only got worse during the night. By this morning she was in agony but I persuaded her we still had to go out and so she felt a lot better after some fresh air. Later on we drove half way to church so we didn’t have such a long walk home. I found a squeaky ball on the beach and took it under a boat that was precariously balanced on two pieces of wood. I wouldn’t come out when Nix called me, I liked it there it was all dark and secret….I did get into serious trouble 🫣 Unfortunately Nix didn’t feel too good in church and so we didn’t go for coffee but came straight home.  It’s Nix’s birthday today, she’s 77…she’s definitely older than me now. I must say she’s had a lot of birthday messages from my fans so thank you for thinking of her, she’s very grateful because she doesn’t have that many friends of her own. To be honest when she woke up this morning she didn’t even remember it was her birthday. She’d already opened all her presents so there was nothing to remind her. Eventually Steve our postman came with more cards and then she remembered. Nix got her booster vaccination today, what a good birthday present. She said the car park was a minefield with lots of old people reversing out of parking spots and not looking where they’re going. I had to remind her that she is one of those ‘old people’ 🤣 Last night wasn’t very good. I didn’t feel very well and I woke Nix up because I was digging in the bathroom. She came and got me and closed the door and went back to bed but I woke her up again when I was digging in the kitchen. It’s not my fault is it that

  Oh dear oh dear oh dear I seem to have got things a bit wrong. I thought that Nix didn’t like to see me digging up the garden but in fact she just doesn’t like the garden being dug up full stop. I waited almost an hour this morning for her to go into the lounge where she couldn’t see me and I was very fast. I almost had the entire phormium up and that’s quite something because their roots go really deep. Nix went bonkers when she saw me and I was made to go inside. She embarrassed herself shouting at me, I don’t know what the neighbours must think.  I thought I wasn’t going to get a walk because Nix was in such a bad mood but eventually we did go to the Hill. It was too hot to go up so we went through the little wood. Apparently I was annoying there too because I was faffing around whatever that means. The walk was actually cut short because Nix said it was too hot to stand around waiting for me. We got back to the car and she felt guilty of course so we went for a little extra walk

Well guess who’s been busy busy busy…moi 😇 Last night I went with Nix to the PCC meeting at church. To be honest it was a bit boring, no singing so I slept through most of it 🤭 We did walk there and back so I got all my walks in.  This morning we got up early and drove up to Mill Hill because we were celebrating Ascension Day. Everyone took their camping chairs and some breakfast and I got a really good walk before and afterwards so I was very happy. Nix was using the chair she fell out of when we had the Easter service on the beach so I think everyone was a bit on tenterhooks in case she did it again, it was a long way down 🤣  This afternoon we have been to Brooklands Park to check out the new paths and now we’re home and resting. A parcel arrived which Nix left on the sofa so obviously I assumed it was for me as they mostly are, Nix doesn’t get a lot.   📕📗📘📙 I asked Nix to show you my copy books. I get so many blots on them that every now and again I have to get a new one. I’m on copybook number four at the moment and I started that off last night with a big blot on it because of an incident with the BCJ 🤭 Now it wasn’t my fault of course, it was Nix who decided to head westward down the boardwalk. This is because normally the BCJ is at the other end but unfortunately last night he wasn’t. We got to the end of the boardwalk and decided to walk back along the road. When I say ‘we’ what I actually mean of course is ‘Nix’ because she makes all the decisions. So anyway, we had just started to walk back when who should appear in the distance but the BCJ. Nix likes to think she saw him before I did but this isn’t true. As soon as she swerved left and tried to drag me down the side road I knew he was there and I immediately put on one of my best displays of drama. Nix was trying to wave and say sorry to the owners whilst dragging

 So been to see Bron this morning to have my blood taken to check my platelets and we should get the results back on Thursday. Unfortunately I have lost some more weight but Bron isn’t worried because she thinks it’s just muscle loss. I’ve gone from 19.1kg three weeks ago to 18.40kg. I have been this low before so I shall try and eat a bit more.  All the ants have gone and Nix is feeling really bad about murdering them. She’s going round looking for any that might have survived and wondering if they suffered at all. I think one of them bit me on my bottom because it made me jump and throw myself at the door to get out…I’m glad they’ve gone.  I stayed on my own when we got back from the vet because Nix had to go to the chemist and collect some more eye drops. This is because she misses her eye most times and so she’s used them all up. She was gone for ages because the computer in the chemist wasn’t working and although they had the drops they weren’t allowed to give them to Nix unless

 Can you believe we’re still taking it easy. The rain hasn’t helped, no one really wants to go out in that. When I say ‘no one’ that basically means Nix because I like the rain. We did go out last night to see the sunset which was nice but today we haven’t really done that much. We had a quick walk down the beach this morning in the drizzle and then we came home.  Oh yes we did go to the big decorators’ shop and Nix bought stuff to kill the ants, stuff to kill the slugs and stuff to make the flowers grow. She says she doesn’t like killing things but you’d never know 🙄 We went to Buckingham Park afterwards and it was completely empty. Humans don’t like the rain, you have to train them. I am very excited because we’re going to have a street party on 2nd June for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Thingy. We will be able to visit everyone’s gardens to say hello and have cups of tea and glasses of Prosecco. Nix says it reminds her of when she was seven and it was the Queens Coronation and the
