Still Trembling but Only in my Sleep 🙂

Image
So the good news is that they tested my urine this morning and it’s as good as it ever is so I don’t have to have the extra month on antibiotics. I think Nix is quite pleased because she said I was getting a bit tubby with all the custard cream balls. Once again I’m thinking pot and kettle 😉 I think the real reason is that she gets embarrassed walking down the street with a plastic jug ready to collect the first wee of the morning 🤣 Nix showed Bron another video of me trembling again and she has decided now that as it only happens when I’m asleep it’s probably neurological. She says she won’t give me anything for it unless it got more serious like if I had a seizure. Because of my autoimmune situation she is very careful what she gives me because we have had some scary things happen in the past. When she gave me a Librella injection for my arthritis my platelets dropped right down so we have all decided that as long as I’m happy and not in pain we won’t risk any more medication. We

A Visit From Carolyn and a Lovely Walk in Buckingham Park 🙂

The good news is that my new bed has filled out very nicely though I don’t think it will ever resemble the one in the photo. It is however very comfortable and I slept on it all night long. The trembling hasn’t come back which is good and I’m feeling much better. Nix and I are travelling to the vets tomorrow to drop off a urine sample so I can show them how well I look. Nix also put two of the doughnut beds together so I wouldn’t be so close to the floor and I rather like that but my choice would be my new bed. I think Nix might have to get me some more because there’s lots of room in them and I can lie out straight…not that I do of course.  Although it’s been a quiet day for me today, Nix has been quite busy. We did have a walk along the beach this morning and a bit later we drove to the station to collect Carolyn one of Nix’s friends from London. Their gardens used to back on to each other and it was a long time ago, before Carolyn had any children and they are all grown up now. Th

Feeling a Bit Better Today 🙂

Image
So…Nix was very worried about me when she woke up this morning.  I was fast asleep but trembling a lot apparently and I nearly got carted off to the emergency vet again. Anyway we went out for our walk and I was completely normal! Nix decided we would still go to church but I could wear my yellow coat that Ginny bought me. I did shiver a bit in church but not a lot and when we got home the bungalow was nice and warm as Nix had put the heating on quite high.  We hadn’t been home very long when my new bed arrived. It didn’t look hopeful, it was a very small box but when Nix cut the plastic, it sprung into life. I got on it immediately and I really liked it so Nix put it in the bedroom to replace the doughnut bed I sleep on and I went straight to sleep on it. Nix said I wasn’t shivering at all and she is very happy so I am very happy too. Nix wonders if the paracetamol has kicked in, I have no idea but I do feel a lot better.  This morning we got an email to say that our friend Gini had

Bit of a Busy Day…

Image
Oh dear we’ve had a bit of a day today. It all started out well, we managed to fit a walk in first thing without it raining though it was a bit wet everywhere. When we got home after Nix had dried my wet bits off I went to bed. When Nix came into the bedroom she said I was trembling in my sleep…I don’t remember. Anyway when I woke up she put me in my woolly jumper and turned the heating up and I got up on the sofa and fell sleep with my head in her lap. I don’t remember it but apparently I was trembling a lot while I was asleep. Nix called the emergency vet and thankfully Bron my vet just happened to be there and so we headed over. They only had one appointment left and Nix thought we would just make it but the journey was a disaster. First of all there were temporary traffic light thingies and so we did a u turn and went a different way. Then we got stuck because the level crossing was closed and we had to wait for two trains. By the time we got up onto the main road the rain was so

Groomers Today, Short Back and Sides 🙂

Image
Nix and I had a lay in this morning as we were out quite late last night having a little drink in town. We met our new friend Linda and while she and Nix had a good chat, I fell asleep on the floor of the bar. It was apparently very noisy and we were glad to be home. After a short walk down the beach this morning Nix drove me to the groomers. I don’t like it much having the bath but I do like it when it’s finished, I feel lovely and clean. Nix doesn’t like it so much when it’s this short but it’s kinder to me because I don’t have to stand for so long if she just clips it all off. I did the trembling act this morning as Nix was leaving and she said it really upset her but I notice she still managed to visit Tescos where she bought a new hat. When I saw it  in the bag I just assumed it was for me but apparently not.  We went for a walk on the beach after lunch as Nix was going out to wash a friend’s hair who hadn’t been very well. I had Liz come to look after me and after my initial wo

The Shingle is on the Move…

Image
Nix thought I was going to the groomers this morning so I got groomed within an inch of my life last night and then she remembered it was only Wednesday and I’m not due for my groom until tomorrow 🤣 I suppose I’ll have to go through it all again tonight as I have been a bit off piste today and gathered quite a bit of undergrowth! This morning we went up to the fort to take a last look at all the shingle (pebbles) which piles up next to the harbour arm. On Monday the shingle shifters will arrive and they will transport it all to the other side of the arm. This is because the sea brings the shingle eastwards and it protects our beaches but when it gets stuck at the harbour arm it means all the beaches to the east of us don’t have any shingle and that puts the beach at risk of erosion. So… they will start piling it up onto lorries and they will take it by road to the eastern side of the arm and deposit it on the beach there. This will it means it will all be fenced off for the next few

Nix Went to the Solicitors Today…

Image
Well we’ve had a really quiet day today. We had a shorter walk down the beach this morning because Nix had to drive into the solicitors in Worthing to organise her will. She was all in a tizz because the road didn’t show up on the sat nav and then it tried to take her down the A27 which she refuses to drive on because all the drivers are lunatics apparently. Anyway she got there in the end and had to take proof that she is who she says she is and so she took her driving licence. She handed it over to the solicitor who looked at it and informed Nix that this was in fact her bus pass and not really eligible 🤣 After she calmed down and thought properly she remembered she’d taken her driving licence out of the wallet which contained the bus pass too and put it in the purse attached to the car keys so she’d always know where it was 🙄 Anyway I was very lucky to have Jackie sit with me while Nix was out so I had a nice sleep on the sofa. I prefer it when Nix doesn’t go out but if she does

Fantastic News About My Grand Godson Winston

Image
We have lots of good news today. Nix’s grand Godson Winston has been very poorly. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour and the doctors weren’t able to remove it all but he’s been having medicine and now the tumour has shrunk…a lot. We think it’s like a miracle so thank you everyone who prayed for him last time we wrote about him. His brother is learning rock climbing and Winston wanted to have a go and with a special teacher he is doing really well especially as he was in a wheelchair in May. Nix will post a photo of him…he’s only six 😪 The other good news is that our church, The Church of the Good Shepherd is now a dementia friendly church and we got presented with our certificate on Sunday. Thank you to Sheila Powell for all her hard work.  This morning I stayed on my own for a little bit while Nix popped out but I was very good. As soon as she got back we had our Sainsbury’s delivery with my smoked mackerel and then we went to Brooklands Park for a treat. It was a lovely sunny day
