Groomers Today, Short Back and Sides 🙂

 


Nix and I had a lay in this morning as we were out quite late last night having a little drink in town. We met our new friend Linda and while she and Nix had a good chat, I fell asleep on the floor of the bar. It was apparently very noisy and we were glad to be home.



After a short walk down the beach this morning Nix drove me to the groomers. I don’t like it much having the bath but I do like it when it’s finished, I feel lovely and clean. Nix doesn’t like it so much when it’s this short but it’s kinder to me because I don’t have to stand for so long if she just clips it all off. I did the trembling act this morning as Nix was leaving and she said it really upset her but I notice she still managed to visit Tescos where she bought a new hat. When I saw it  in the bag I just assumed it was for me but apparently not. 




We went for a walk on the beach after lunch as Nix was going out to wash a friend’s hair who hadn’t been very well. I had Liz come to look after me and after my initial worry I just went to sleep. I don’t even hear Nix come in these days yet when her phone slipped onto the floor in the middle of the night it made me jump out of my skin.  Nix is beginning to think that my hearing is better than I make out 🫢



Two bits of good news, we’ll one bit of good news and one bit of very excellent news. The good news is that Nix sold her Live Aid programme for £60! That’s just about enough for a new bed as one of the ones I have has seen better days. 



The really excellent news is that The Archers (UK radio drama about country farming folk) are going to use silent fireworks for their big bonfire night. Lots of people listen to The Archers and you can buy them now in some of the supermarkets so I hope for the doggies who can still hear, that it is less scary this year.

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
