Lovely Full Moon…

Image
I think life is rather good at the moment. Not too hot, not too wet…just right. For our last walk yesterday we went down the beach to look at the big moon…it was really very big. Nix said she felt like she could reach out and touch it. Lots of people were taking photos but not of moi…it was quite weird.  We had a lovely walk on the beach again this morning because it was a very low tide. When the moon is big like it is at the moment Nix told me you get a lot more sand on the beach because the sea goes further out. I like it when it’s like that, much easier to walk on. We saw some horses and one naughty dog decided to chase them. He was fine at first and walked past them but after a few minutes he decided to go back after them. His owner called him back and eventually he came but instead of putting him on his lead for a while he left him and next thing he was back chasing the horses again. He did it three times, he’s lucky he didn’t get kicked.   This afternoon we had a short walk to t

Brooklands Park Today…the Horsebox CafΓ© was closed…

Well anyone would think it’s summer, it’s been very hot today. We set out early this morning for our pre church walk and I wore my illuminated collar. I didn’t really need it, it wasn’t that dark but Nix says she doesn’t trust me for some reason. By the time we actually set out for church it was so hot, Nix didn’t need a jacket and that was very early this morning and it’s got hotter during the day. I don’t like it when it’s too hot, it makes me feel a bit sick. Speaking of being sick I was very sick last night but Nix thinks it’s one of the treats she bought me in the pet shop so I won’t be getting any more of thoseπŸ˜• I also left a couple of wet patches on the sofa when I had my head on Nix’s lap so it can only have come from one place…apparently. I’m going to get my flush done now as soon as Bron can do it.  This afternoon we drove over to Brooklands Park. We had the air conditioning on so it was lovely and cool and Nix was listening to The Archers whatever that is. It was very hot

Tea With Jackie and Indie πŸ™‚

We had a very nice home group last night, Nix says it’s nice to have lots of visitors. I usually go to bed once everyone has arrived but last night I stayed in the lounge to keep everyone company. Nix says I’m a bit clingy at the moment and she’s a bit worried about that but the truth is I’m nosey and don’t want to miss anything.  I think a lot of the UK got a big storm yesterday but we didn’t get any of it, in fact it was rather a nice day. This morning however the sea was very rough. It was a bit strange because there wasn’t even any wind but the waves were big. It’s amazing how many silly dog owners let’s their dogs get very close to the waters edge. It only takes one wave Nix says so I’m not allowed to go too close especially if the tide is coming in.  We had fun this afternoon as we went out with Jackie and Indie. To tell you the truth I was ready to go out earlier and I tried the stare but it didn’t work but I didn’t mind too much as I went back to sleep. After we stopped at th

Its very difficult to kick a habit you know. Nix says if I’d owned up to being the intruder in the first place I could have had training and I might be a better behaved dog by now. As it is I didn’t and now I’m stuck with it…I cannot resist a flower bed. Suffice it to say that I am in the dog house so it’s a good job I did the digging after we’d had our walk to Southwick Hill.  It was very nice up at Southwick Hill by the way, I like the views and it’s nice and breezy. It’s a shame they are building so many new houses on the edge of the village, they are getting closer and closer to the Downs. I hope they don’t decide to build on Southwick Hill, I shouldn’t like that at all.  We have home group here this evening so Nix is tidying up and cleaning. She’s also very happy because a package arrived for her this afternoon. She’s been saving up for ages for her favourite bottle of perfume and it’s finally arrived. I can’t see what all the fuss is about myself, I prefer the smell of stinky ol

The Last CafΓ© Today πŸ˜ͺ

A very enjoyable walk on the beach this morning, I found a dead fish…it was yummy. I couldn’t manage it all and Nix wouldn’t let me bring it home, I have no idea why πŸ€” Later we headed out for our final cafΓ© morning. It will be strange on Tuesday mornings not going there, I shall probably sleep instead so not much will change for me. We had some visitors today who have been to visit before which was nice and they wanted to say goodbye. John our regular came with a packet of Chocolate Digestives for us to take for coffee after church, we’re hoping he’ll come and have coffee with us there. Rev’d Jane joined us for a cuppa too and after chatting with Jane Nix thinks she might get confirmed. She never was as a child and she really wants to do it now. Obviously I enquired whether I could get confirmed too but apparently they don’t do dogs, not even Beardies πŸ€” This afternoon we just went to Buckingham Park. That was very pleasant and not too far as I do tend to get a little tired these d

Lancing Ring Today and the Beach πŸ™‚

First of all I am absolutely fine. The guy on the beach yesterday didn’t really kick me with the toe of his boot, he sort of thrust his boot between me and his dog. It didn’t hurt me at all so no one needs to worry…I’m a toughie as I’m sure you all know. Nix says we won’t be going to the beach on a warm Sunday in future, we’ll stick to the Downs. We’ve had a quiet day today as Nix had washing and stuff to do. We meandered down the boardwalk this morning which was very nice and it was lovely and warm but not too hot. There was no sign of the black Labrador thank goodness though I feel we could be friends, he seemed to like me.  After lunch we intended to visit the Lancing ring by the dew pond but all the roads were closed off. We ended up at the lower part of the Ring which means a very big climb to get to the top. We only made it half way up as it was quite hot by then and Nix was panicking when I decided to go my own way. We did discover a new doggy exercise area which is probably fu

Well it would appear I am no longer Nix’s ‘little pot of gold’ as there was a small incident on the beach just now. When I say small it was obviously big enough to upset Nix and for that I am truly sorry. Thing is we don’t normally go to the beach on Sundays because a lot of weird dogs turn up but today Nix wanted to be home to watch some bits of an asteroid thingy land in the Utah desert. She is very excited about this because scientists will be able to learn a lot about the formation of our planets. Nix thinks they should probably just ask the Creator but never mind if it keeps them busy.  Anyway… the incident…it wasn’t good. It all started with Nix heading down the beach to take photographs of the sea and what she thought looked like angel wings in the sky. She thought I was following her but when she turned round she saw I was headed back to the boardwalk. There was this massive black Labrador with massive you know whats if you know what I mean. I think I go a bit mad when I see/s

Widewater Silver Anniversary

Image
Last night we waited for the rain to stop before we went out for our last walk. I’m not bothered by the rain but Nix doesn’t like it. Anyway it was worth the wait because we saw a lovely rainbow in the sky when we got to the beach. Nix took a photo that made it look like I was at the end of the rainbow…she said I was her little pot of gold.  This morning the boardwalk was very wet from all the rain yesterday but we still walked all the way to the old fort. Nix put nappy pads in all the beds except the smaller one that I don’t go in so much. I decided to go in that one for a change and now it’s wet and smelly so Nix has had to wash it.  This afternoon we went up to Widewater Lagoon where they were having a bit of a do as it was their silver anniversary. They had the Sundown Ukulele Band playing and lots of stalls and things and there were owls though I didn’t see them. We came back via the beach but it was getting too hot so we didn’t stay long.  I had a bit of a relapse I’m sorry to
