The Adventures of Fripp

  We’ve had a lovely day so far and we’ve met lots of people, lots of dogs, some cows and a horse. The horse belongs to Jane Owen and we bumped into her and her Beardie Wilfred on our way to the beach. It’s a very low tide at the moment and there’s lots of sand so the horses can have a canter. I managed to get Nix out before noon for our next walk. It’s not my fault I was ‘over excited’ she shouldn’t have mentioned Devil’s Dyke because I love it there. We walked quite a long way and we got to this gate and a very nice lady on a bicycle asked if it was okay to open it for Moi. Nix thanked her for being so thoughtful and we charged through…well I charged, Nix not so much. We were just about to set off on the next part of our journey when Nix turned round to see me staring at a big bunch of cows. I know it’s my job but I would never try to herd them but Nix said they didn’t know that and she didn’t like the way they were looking at us. Nix can move pretty quickly when she needs to and...

 Look it’s not rocket science is it, we go out at 2pm for our main walk on the dot or earlier I don’t mind which but definitely not later. So…this morning we had our first walk very early because the men were coming to fit a new front door…more of that later if you’re still awake. So we get home and the men aren’t coming now so Nix decides to do our long walk early like 10am instead of 2pm. Now this was never going to work was it but I wasn’t about to say anything right then. We went off to the Hill and we had quite a good walk…for 10am.  By the time it got to 2pm Nix had fallen asleep on the sofa of course so it was down to ‘the glare’ which I’m unhappy to tell you did not work as well as usual. This was my fault apparently because I’d kept her awake in the night but even so, one whole hour of staring is very tiring.   We’ve had a fabarooby day, I am very happy…and full 😋 First of all we went to the beach, quite early as we were having a visit from Tracy. It wasn’t raining and it wasn’t cold so there was no moaning from Nix 😏 I had a bit of a nap when we got home and then I took up my position to wait for Tracy to arrive and it seemed to take forever. It was definitely worth the wait because my day was perfect after she arrived. First of all she gave Nix a really pretty tin of thingies…you’ll have to guess what they are. I was a bit worried I might not be getting anything but I didn’t need to worry. We walked over the bridge into town and we stopped for coffee and cake and I had some cake. We then went for a walk down the river where I had a dip and got one of my haggis treats from Liz Jordan’s Lucca. On the way home we stopped for ice cream and I had some of that too.  Now I’m resting up in my day room and without me watching over her I have a feeling Nix will be passing out quite soon ...

 Well we’ve had a busy day…no scrap that, Nix has had a busy day, I’ve had a boring day. Our friend Jilly was coming to visit and because Nix is far too lazy to actually make lunch we went for a walk into town so Nix could buy frittata thingies. They are of no interest to me as they seem to be made of mainly potatoes. On the way we bumped into Bear so that was nice as we haven’t seen him for a while. When we got to the Artisan to collect the lunch I got a lot of attention and some treats…not frittata thingies thank goodness.  Nix and Jilly spent most of the day putting the world to rights and now Jilly is driving home to Windsor. We did go for a walk along the beach and we bumped into Bear again. We could hear him barking from a long way off. I also bumped onto that other Pom I accidentally tried to mount the other day. I was on my lead by this time so had to restrain myself.  Now we’re home again and I’m playing with my new toy and I hope to have something interesting to...

 We went to church to meditate early this morning. We walked there along the beach and I had a bit of a dip. I’m usually not allowed in the sea if we’re going to church but the meditation is in the church garden so I was allowed. I fell asleep while I was meditating and so did Gracie who belongs to the Vicar. We both woke up when the croissants arrived though, had to make sure we didn’t miss any treats. Gracie took the left half and I took the right. I think I did best because Edgar gave me quite a lot of his croissant.  When they were having breakfast Jane the Vicar was telling everyone that there was this thing called beer and hymns. Apparently they drink quite a lot of beer and sing quite a lot of hymns…sounds very rowdy to me 😇 A package arrived for me yesterday and guess what it was…Haggis treats 😋 They came from Liz Jordan’s Lucca all the way from Scotland and they are very yummy…thank you Lucca 🙂 This afternoon we have been to the Bluebird Café in Ferring.  Afternoon all 😇 Our morning started with a walk down to the old fort and I was allowed to roam loose. Well I say loose, I had to have a long lead attached to me so that Nix could stick her foot on it should the BCJ show up. She didn’t want to ruin my new lead as we use that for church and we want to keep it looking smart…it’s my Sunday best lead.  So… she cobbled one together by joining two bits of old lead that had originally been one. For reasons best known to herself she had cut it in half but she knotted it together again with her Brownie remembered reef knot. That lasted about one minute before Nix looked down and realised that half of it was missing. She had to go back and look for it and it was right back where we first started. She should just leave things alone, that’s what I think. 🤣  This afternoon Nix made one more of her weird looking juices and tried to pretend she liked it and then we went to the park.  Nix is not happy, she accidentally murdered the Sweet Peas! They had the green flies on them and Nix thought she would spray them with a bug killer. Unfortunately she picked up the wrong spray and sprayed them with weedkiller 😱 She panicked and got the hose out and sprayed them with lots of water and now she thinks the weedkiller will have gone on to the other plants and murdered them too. It was an accident so I told her it was just manslaughter…she’s definitely not happy 🤭 Before the murder/manslaughter we went to the beach. I stayed on my new long lead which I like because I can still trot through the grass on the beach. Nix does try to keep up but it’s all a bit too much for her first thing. There wasn’t any sunshine and it was a bit drizzly so we didn’t stay so long.  As you know I don’t like coughing but I don’t really mind it so much during the day. Nix teased me today and pretended to cough. She said it was aversion therapy and she was trying to cure me of my phobia...
