The Adventures of Fripp

 It’s just a bit too hot for me and Nix today so we’re having one of our lazy days. We had a good walk early this morning before it got too hot and Freddie my little admirer was there. He spotted me immediately and came running over. I did have to tell him off a couple of times because he can be a bit annoying. I just have to give him the ‘look’ and a grunt and he’s gone 🤣 After we’d been home for about an hour Nix decided she wanted to go for a dip in the sea as it was so hot. I went too as it was just a quick dip and I could cool off too…it was very nice. When we came home I went into the summerhouse and slept for a long time.  It’s now 4pm and I’ve had nice dinner and I want to go out again. Nix says the pavements are too hot for my paws so we have to wait a bit longer. Must admit I did hear her squeaking when she came down the garden in her bare feet. apparently humans feel it too, that’s why they wear shoes 🙂

 I was going to start my post with a question…‘guess who we bumped into this morning’ but decided against it. I did that yesterday and Facebook decided to do something weird with it so instead of getting comments we got notifications that people were answering our question. It didn’t bother me but for some reason it really annoyed Nix…not that it takes a lot these days 🤣  She said it was a hypothetical question that didn’t need an answer and to be honest went on about it for just a bit too long.  So…today we had the pleasure of bumping into our friend Mark with Spud and Loki. We all walked down the boardwalk together, well we walked, Loki ran…all the time, up and down, up,and down, up and down, he’s got a lot of energy 🤣 We bumped into the Huskies and rather annoyingly Nix saw them before I did and put me on the lead.  Do you know something, Nix is always on the phone when I want to go out, it’s simply not good enough. She’s on there for so long sometimes I actually fall asleep which is very annoying. Thing is I have excellent hearing even when I’m asleep and when I hear Nix say goodbye I jump up ready for my walk. Now she says to her friends, “I’m not going to say the word cause big ears next door will want to go out again.” She must think I’m really stupid and deaf because I might be fast asleep but when that phone clicks off I hear it and I’m there.  She’s been on the phone this afternoon and I woke up as soon as I heard the phone click. I know she’s waiting for me to stick my head round the doorway but I’m lulling her into a false sense of security and letting her think I’m still asleep. I like doing that because then she has to creep round everywhere so as not to wake me. She’s trying to make a cup of tea now silently… I shall wait until she’s just about to drink it and then spring int...

 It’s going to be a short blog today because Nix has had one of her migraine thingies where she can’t see properly. She can’t see properly most of the time so not sure what she’s going on about but she’s had a rest in a darkened room and she’s okay now…well physically 🤣 We’ve been for a walk down by the airport and checked out the new coffee place. I got a treat straight away and Nix had lemon drizzle cake. We watched a brand new plane just a few days old taking off for the first time and we met lots of young trainee pilots. It’s all that chat and guzzling lemon drizzle that set the eye thingie off if you ask me. Nix was telling them that although I wasn’t scared of the plane which was very noisy I was scared of her sneezing. She thought that would make them laugh and like her but they came and cuddled me instead…result 👏👏👏🤣

 Sometimes I think I can’t do anything right. It is not my fault the brown curly job was down on the beach last night for low tide. I couldn’t see him but I knew he was there and I might have got just a bit frantic. Nix says I’m embarrassing and everyone was looking but more likely to be at what she was wearing which trust me was a lot more scary than me being a bit frantic. Anyway I was marched off at top speed in the opposite direction…top speed is not advisable for Nix because as you know she doesn’t always stay on her feet for long and the faster you go the faster you fall 🤣 We’ve been to Southwick Hill this afternoon. It wasn’t very sunny and Nix was saying it was very close. This means I have to put up with her puffing and panting all the way up the hill and she says I’m embarrassing! She also says I can’t go in a straight line just because I prefer to take the scenic routes rather than the boring old path. This does mean I’m out of sight for a while which mean I am bribed w...

  I just got told off the once today and that was more Nix having a panic attack than me actually being naughty. The thing is Nix wanders along on our walks and is quite frankly on another planet. C’est impossible not to hide in the long grass, someone has to keep her on her toes. I feel I am doing my job by keeping her brain active as she gets older. Nix says I’m more likely to give her a heart attack and then what will I do. I have tried to explain that there is quite a long list of humans who would love to have me live with them. Nix says that’s because they don’t know what a nightmare I am…I shall take that as a compliment.  We have been invited for tea next week to Nix’s friend Trish’s house and Nix says I have to stay on the lead when I get there because I am too nosy…and this coming from Nix 🙄 Look I just like to make sure everything is in order and that does entail checking out every room in the house.   I’ve left Nix in charge of the blog today so don’t expect too much…I’m off for a kip as I am very tired. We hadn’t been back from the beach for long when we set off again to meet Debbie and Scruff at the woods. It was quite hot so we stayed under the trees for most of the walk and then headed over the field to the sea.  When we got to the sea, Scruffy was really brave, he headed straight in and started swimming. As you know I don’t do that sort of thing and I was slightly annoyed that he was getting all the attention. Debbie saw a seal and Nix tried to see a seal playing in the shallows. There was much excitement, too much really I mean it was just a seal. I barked quite a bit to get everyone’s attention and as usual got told off by Nix’s pointy finger.  Oh yes there’s a video of the stupid seal…you’ll have to look very closely 🤣
