The Adventures of Fripp

 I got two walks this morning because Nix got confused with Friday mornings when she Zooms at 8am.  We had a walk round the block really early and when we got home Nix sat down to start her Zooming and realised she’d got the days mixed up and it wasn’t until 9.30am so guess what...I got to go out again on our normal walk where I meet all my friends. They were very jealous that it was only 7.30am and it was my second walk. Anyway I was apparently very badly behaved this morning. I don’t really know why as there were no incidents to speak of. The thing is if I smell something interesting down the beach then I just have to go and investigate. I do hear Nix calling my name and I do hear the treats being rattled but I have to get to whatever it is that’s smelling so good. Nix said I’d embarrassed her because she’d just been ‘advising’ a lady with her first puppy who wasnt doing as it was told because it was too interested in all the other dogs. Nix said it was best not to ‘set hers...

  Guess what, the sun is out, it’s warm and it’s not raining...just as Nix bought me a waterproof fleecy coat to keep me warm and dry. Just think she could have spent the money on something more important like squeaky toys or treats.  Nix thinks I might need it because this Friday I go to the groomers. I might be a bit shorter than you humans like but I prefer it, it makes me feel younger but apparently I might need my new coat.  I am going next monday to have my bypass flushed through because as you know I have to have this done a few times a year. My vet Bron is based in a different branch now and it’s a lot further away from where we live and Nix was panicking about having to drive there. She can’t drive very quickly because she has these thingies in her eyes which means she can’t see as well as she used to. There aren’t any other vets nearer who know how to do my flush so we knew I had to get there somehow. Nix had decided to do the journey and just drive slowly but t...

 Guess what...Nix read in the newspaper this morning that we might be able to have picnics in the park in another month and we can sit outside cafes and have breakfast again which I like to do as I get a lot of attention. We can go to the pub again too but last time we were allowed to go to the pub the humans had to eat something called a ‘substantial meal’ with their wine. There was a big debate as to whether Scotch Eggs and things counted and apparently they didn’t.  This is probably a good thing because Nix doesn’t like scotch eggs...I would have eaten it of course ☺️ It’s been very cold again today so I got to wear my new coat again this morning. I like it so much I wouldn’t let Nix take it off when we got home and I played in the garden wearing it. It’s going to be warmer tomorrow so I might not get the chance to wear it again and Nix refused to go to the top of the hill today because she said, “It was too darned cold...” I shall still be able to wear the waterproof bit t...

 Guess what... we had a lie in this morning, we’ve never had one of those and I think I quite like it. I did my first wee in the garden so I came in and ate my breakfast and got bored waiting for Nix to get hers. I decided to go and have a little lie down in the spare room and next thing I know I wake up to find Nix staring at me wondering if I am still alive...it was nearly 9am! Once she realised I had not died in the one hour I’d been asleep she thought she was going back to bed to watch TV...I think not. Position one is in the doorway. Position 2 is at the bottom of the bed. Position three is stretched across the bed to limit the movement of the human’s legs...this usually does the trick, it worked this morning.  🤣  All our plans had to change though because the brown curly job might have been on the beach. We went for a walk by the houseboats instead which I quite like because there are lot of cats down there...and chickens. I also saw three little dogs playing down ...

 I’ve been writing my blog for over a year now. I hope you’re not getting bored with my stories because some days I even bore myself. Take today for instance, we drove over to Ferring for a lovely walk to the Bluebell cafe. I must admit it was very windy and I suppose for humans it would be considered cold but it was very sunny and I was warm enough and I didn’t even have my new coat on. Nix was moaning the whole way saying that the whole of her face had gone numb with the cold...and she calls me a drama queen 🙄 We didn’t go quite as far as I’d expected, never mind, I shall demand an extra walk later on.  My next flush is causing something of a problem. My lovely vet Bron is based further away from us now and Nix is worried about driving somewhere new because her eyes don’t work properly. I might have to go in an animal ambulance which I quite like the sound of especially if we can have the siren going.  I stole a treat from the work top today, I’m very tall when I stand...

  So my new coat arrived and I like it very much. I feel that blue is my colour and I had a lot of compliments. I wore it for the sunset last night and I wore it for the sunrise this morning. Everyone wanted to take photos of me and they all wanted to know where I got my lovely coat from. I felt like a proper celebrity.  Nix had a dream last night that I ran off and went across a road and into a wood and she couldn’t find me anywhere, she was really upset when she woke up, silly thing. I would never run off like that though saying that I did run off this morning but I stopped before I got to the road. Nix said she nearly had heart failure and thought her dream was coming true. I have no idea why I ran off like that, I think I saw another dog that I had to get to but when I got closer I realised it was the dog I’d just been playing with on the beach. I had to go on my lead...again. We’ve been to the woods and it’s been very sunny so I didn’t need to wear my new coat. Nix says s...

 Apparently I’ve been generally annoying all day. I don’t count the mounting of the retriever this morning because the stupid dog fell over and I fell on top of him. Who gets told off...moi of course, it just isn’t fair. I could have hurt myself, I am after all considered a more vulnerable Beardie because I have a bypass. Speaking of bypasses I shall be going in soon to have mine flushed through...keep it nice and clean.  I suppose I can see why I might have been described as annoying when we got back from our walk. Yes I did jump up on the new duvet cover before Nix had cleaned my very muddy paws but she needs to speed up a bit. She’s faffing around filling up the water bowl we leave on the street for thirsty dogs so what am I meant to do, just sit and wait. I was tired and wanted to get to bed for my nap so I just jumped up. Nix heard me land, that’s the fastest I’ve seen her move for some time but it was just a bit too late 🤭 I was allowed to have a little sleep in the gar...
