The Adventures of Fripp

 I know we’re very lucky to live so close to the beach but a dog can get a bit bored with the same old boardwalk. As I’ve done so well since my falls Nix said we could go to the Rec this afternoon. We didn’t go as far as the little wood but I had a really great walk and I met this really nice couple who were throwing a ball for their cockerpoo. I really wanted them to throw it for me but meanie Nix said no in case I fell over. I caused a fuss but to no avail 😞 Nix’s Sweet Peas are still doing really well. There are some new ones growing and they have a proper Sweet Pea scent. They are pinky white with a lilac edging and they are very pretty. I hope the French beans do as well because I think I might like them and if they’re not too high I can help myself whenever I want. I expect I used to get French beans when I lived in Monaco for the first two years of my life.  Tomorrow we have the whole day free so far. We might go to Brooklands park and stop off at the café for a coffee...

 Well we had a very early start this morning, Nix woke up around 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep. She was watching Celebrity Gogglebox from last night and I went to sleep in the garden but really I was ready to go out. Nix got the message in the end and as I was feeling so much better we went an extra block up the beach. My legs were fine and it wasn’t that hot so I enjoyed the extra walk. The grass on the beach has got very long and once my legs are a bit stronger I shall enjoy hiding in there. At the moment Nix won’t let me walk on the pebbles. Once we got home I went straight to sleep in the garden and I think Nix dozed off on the sofa.  It was around 11am when Nix said we were going for another walk round the block. It wasn’t time for my next walk so I knew that Nix was planning to go out to the church fayre…without me.   So first things first, I am completely back to normal 🙂 Nix says that’s my version of normal but suffice to say I am not falling over any longer. I had a little pain this afternoon when I was getting out of my bed and I cried and Nix came flying in but by that time I was fine. She told me she gets something similar…she can be walking along and all of a sudden she gets this shooting pain at the top of her leg and it makes her cry out but a few seconds later it’s gone. That’s a bit annoying because I was hoping for a bit more sympathy and extra treats 😋 Some men mainly are a bit rough when they say hello to moi. They sort of slap me on my bottom and that makes me wobble and Nix has to ask them not to do it. Well…you know I have this Deaf Dog banner thingy on my lead, well Nix was thinking of getting one that said ‘Don’t Touch, Wobbly Bottom but then she decided people might think that she was talking about herself 🤣🤣🤣 So we had a meander down the boardwalk last night, it was v...

  So I had a couple of falls yesterday. Nix says once you get over 60 you don’t ’fall over’ you ‘have a fall’ so as I’m definitely over 60 that’s what I had. It happened when we were walking round the block last night and it has happened before but not very often. I fell twice last night and fell again when we got home. It really scared Nix especially as Bron is now away for almost two weeks.  We only went round the block this morning and I didn’t fall at all but Nix says my back legs look quite wobbly. She has taken a couple of videos for you clever people to look at.  My back legs have been weak for quite some time so it’s not too sudden though the actual falling is. Nix says to remind you that I don’t have a ball joint in one of my back legs but we don’t know which one.  First of all, I have very good news about moi. We heard from Bron and my urine is now perfectly acidic and I’m to carry on with my Urinaid probably forever. It’s dangerous for me for my urine to be too alkaline because that’s what causes the stones and I definitely don’t want any more of those. Bron has gone on her annual holiday and she has asked Nix to look after me while she’s gone 🥰 We had a very nice evening yesterday. We set off to walk to the bridge to meet Linda but she beat us to it. We stopped off at the fish and chip shop and then took our food home and ate it in the garden. When Linda was ready to go home we walked back with her a little way for my final walk of the day. She goes home tomorrow but we are hoping to meet for coffee in the morning.  This morning we drove over to Hove very early to collect a piece of trellis.  Honestly it’s so hot down here and Nix is puffing and panting and moaning that it’s too hot. She is however going in the sea with Rita tomorrow for the first time this year. If you remember their last effort last year ended up with them nearly going flat on their faces as a big wave came just as they were getting out. Nix lost her beach shoes in the process which probably ended up in Brighton as everything heads east 🤣 We have been to have a cuppa with Jackie and Indie this afternoon as Jackie was on her own too. We managed to sit in the shade but I got told off for trying to tidy the lawn up a bit…honestly there’s no pleasing humans sometimes. It’s always Nix telling me off, I don’t think Jackie minds, she didn’t anyway when I did a big wee.  Linda is coming over a bit later on and we are having fish and chips…I’m really looking forward to that.  Well today the weather has been very weird. We were expecting it to be very hot and sunny but in fact it was quite cloudy and not that warm. We had a lovely cool morning walk along the boardwalk and although I did slow down a bit at the end I did enjoy myself.  We were meeting Linda today and she very kindly offered to come to us as we thought it would have been too hot for me to walk over the bridge and back. Nix had a jam doughnut which I must say was rather nice and I’m not sure what Linda had but it was very tasty too 😋  Nix forgot to take photos when Linda was here but she is coming tomorrow again for fish and chips so I shall make sure that Nix takes pics. Did you know that Nix has a ‘Kiddies’ meal now from the chip shop. It’s half the price and I still get my bits of fish and Nix gets a cold drink included so cod goujons it will be tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to that.
