Summer Fayre Today, I Didn’t Go 🙄



 Well we had a very early start this morning, Nix woke up around 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep. She was watching Celebrity Gogglebox from last night and I went to sleep in the garden but really I was ready to go out. Nix got the message in the end and as I was feeling so much better we went an extra block up the beach. My legs were fine and it wasn’t that hot so I enjoyed the extra walk. The grass on the beach has got very long and once my legs are a bit stronger I shall enjoy hiding in there. At the moment Nix won’t let me walk on the pebbles. Once we got home I went straight to sleep in the garden and I think Nix dozed off on the sofa. 



It was around 11am when Nix said we were going for another walk round the block. It wasn’t time for my next walk so I knew that Nix was planning to go out to the church fayre…without me. It had got very hot by then so to be honest I didn’t want to go anyway so I went to sleep in the garden. I woke up before Nix got back but actually I didn’t mind her not being here. I didn’t go back to the garden though, I went to sleep by the front door so I’d know when she was back. 






The Summer Fayre at church was excellent apparently and Nix narrowly missed being put in the stocks. It’s usually the clergy who go in but we didn’t have any there so next in line is the church warden. Thankfully some brave soul had offered so Nix escaped the humiliation of having wet sponges thrown at her. 





Nix has spent some time today clearing up her photos on her iPad. She has over 25,000...even the young guy at Apple was quite amazed. Anyway she is going to post a couple of me from way back when I was six and seven and also a video of me accidentally swimming 🤭 She’ll put on some photos from the Fayre too.

We are also posting a link to this month’s church magazine for those interested. Nix wrote a couple of articles in there and they’re not too bad, almost as good as my blog…but not quite 🙂 We think the PDF version is the best 🙂

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
