Coffee In Town With Jackie And Indie

Image
Nix thinks summer has arrived, haven’t the heart to tell her it’s going to be raining tomorrow with a touch of thunder. I can’t hear the thunder these days so I’m not bothered. She’s been tidying the garden and complaining about the slug thingies and the weeds but very happy that everything else is thriving. There have been no intruder incidents thank goodness so all was sweetness and light in the garden. Having said that things got a bit frosty when she heard from my insurance company. She had forgotten that the two claims she put in were for different conditions and they were the first claims of the year so £135 excess…on each one!!! She’s not amused, says I’ll have to live on bread and water…as if 🤣 On our way back from the beach this morning we met an Italian greyhound who had broken his leg. He was very brave, he had a lot of stitches. He is allowed to walk on it now but he’s not allowed to jump and there are sofas and chairs everywhere so he has to stay in a caged area for thre

Devil’s Dyke Yay 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙂

I shall be fast asleep while Nix types this blog because I am very very tired! I think Nix is too but she is under my strict instruction to get the blog sent off before she dozes off. I have done all I can to make sure it gets out on time but there are no guarantees.  This morning the sun was out and it was actually quite warm, we had a lovely early morning walk down the beach and Nix said that if it stayed nice we could go to Devil’s Dyke later. This was very exciting as I love it there…let’s just hope the cows aren’t out because Nix doesn’t like them. They chase people with dogs and because the dogs can run faster it’s usually the people who get flattened by the cows. I am not joking, there have been air ambulances called out to take people to hospital so Nix refuses to go where they are because they’re apparently unpredictable.  I had a bit of a doze in the garden and Nix hung some washing out and next thing I know we’re in the car and on our way to Devil’s Dyke. As soon as we reac

Quiet Day Today, Hoping For Something Better Tomorrow 🙂

We haven’t done a lot really today. Well I suppose Nix has but I’ve been asleep most of the time. I think Nix is going to slightly lower my Reconcile (Prozac) next week. Bron had said I could come off it altogether if I seemed well but Nix is a bit nervous so we’ll do it slowly. I’m quite old now and I do like to sleep all day. I notice when I do check, Nix is often asleep on the sofa too. Speaking of the sofa she is threatening to sleep on it tonight. She doesn’t like me sleeping in a different room so if Mohammed and all that. Apparently I was snoring in church 🤣 We’ve had a bit of a walk on the beach but it was very windy. As we have nothing to do tomorrow and it shouldn’t be raining, I think we might go somewhere a bit special in the car.  We might have to take lots of photos because we didn’t take very many today.  A decision has been made about what to plant in the final pot. Many thanks for all the recommendations but I’m not really bothered because I can’t reach into it, it’s

Lovely Cushions…Nix Wants Them 🙄

Image
We had quite a busy morning today but I’ve been asleep for a lot of the rest of today. This morning we headed over the bridge into town as it was the artisan market and also lemon drizzle cake in the Parish Centre. We met a very nice lady who was waiting for the pottery place next door to open. She was doing a course there and she wanted to make a car. She had brought one she already had but because all her children wanted it when she went to the bridge, she decided to make three more. We watch the Pottery Throwdown programme and we know how difficult that would be. Nix thinks she might have bitten off a bit more than she could chew which is ridiculous because obviously whatever I bite off, I eat 😋  When we were looking round the market Nix saw some cushions that she really really wants. I like them too, they’re very seasidy and would look lovely in our bungalow 🙂 Caroline who makes them we discovered lives in the next road to us and she recognised moi from when we walk past her hou

Visit To The Vet Today But Just To Pick Up My Medication

Image
I think today might have just been a tad boring. I did enjoy my croissant at the Parish Centre but to be honest I was asleep for most of the time. When we left we got almost to the footbridge when Nix realised she’d left my bed behind…I mean how can you forget something so important! Anyway once we got home Nix attended to the new clematis which had to be released from its tape stuff and it is now securely fixed to a new cane. All of the sweet peas are fixed the same and now Nix is trying to decide what to plant in the final pot. At first she thought of some kind of small evergreen tree as it’s a huge pot but now she says she’s thinking of putting veggies in there instead. She won’t of course, this is all for dramatic effect as she has had to fork out £300 for my medication and says she can’t afford to buy food for herself, only for moi 🤣🤣🤣 Don’t worry it’s not true, you know how she likes to exaggerate 🙄 If she’s serious about the veggies she’d be looking for something that grows

Visit From Rita Today…

Image
Bit of a wet start to the day especially as it wasn’t meant to rain. Actually it only rained for a little bit and then it hailed! Nix and I got quite wet but we’re dry now. Rita came round this morning so that was very nice. I generally sleep in one of the bedrooms in the morning but not if we have visitors, then I sleep in the lounge. I just like to keep an eye on Nix, make sure that she isn’t going out without me again. They were just having cups of coffee really and chatting about churchy stuff. Nix is standing for church warden on Sunday so they were talking about that a bit and generally putting the world to rights…or so they thought.  Nix and I left when Rita was ready to go home and we had a nice walk round the town. We went via the churchyard and the shops and Nix bought some eggs and I got a treat in the egg shop. I also got a treat from a nice man who we bump into sometimes in the street. Tomorrow morning we have our Friday morning thing at St Mary’s where I shall get some cr

I Still Do Not Have A Lazy Eye 🤔

Image
I’m only going to say this one more time, I do not have a lazy eye. And if I did have a lazy eye it would not be funny! Anyway Nix was feeling bad for laughing so she has cleaned the annoying bit of hair with a wet wipe and tried to get it to grow in the right direction which is not over my eye. Weirdly Nix has a bit of hair that is growing up instead of down and which I think looks ridiculous. The new haircut hasn’t made any difference, if anything it’s made it worse but am I laughing… no! 🤣🤣🤣 We walked all the way to the old fort this morning. The men were there making a path from the car park to the harbour wall. Now people with disabilities can get to the arm to fish as before the only way was across the pebbles which isn’t very good if you’re in a wheelchair. Speaking of fish (well sort of) there were two seals earlier in the sea near Widewater Lagoon. One of them was taking it easy having a little rest.  This afternoon we have been to Southwick Hill. We didn’t go quite as fa
