The Adventures of Fripp

  Guess what…at 3pm every  afternoon I get seven custard cream balls. This is because I’m on antibiotics for one month and they are very big so Nix breaks them into quarters. I get four for my antibiotic, two for my Reconcile and one for my Paracetamol. I also get a tiny piece of bread and butter that has my  Propalin drops on it. I’m really enjoying taking my medication and I’ll be a bit disappointed when I have to stop the antibiotics 😋 I found a very tasty fish on the beach this morning, quite fresh really but Nix said it made her feel sick when she looked. She took a photo to show you all but she said she would have to edit it because it was so disgusting. I nearly ate a mermaid’s purse too 🤣 We have home group this evening so Nix is actually doing some housework. I’m going to try really hard not to be annoying but when there a lot of people in the house I just want to say hello to everyone and they’re not really that keen 😪  Never mind, Beth is visiting from London tomorrow and

  Guess what? I stayed on my own this morning for the first time since I got sick. Nix took me for a lovely walk first and I found a toy duck like the one I already have so I was able to bring that home. Nix was hoping I would go to sleep as usual in the bedroom but I knew she was going out. She thought if she sprayed her perfume before we went on our walk I might not notice. I thought if I sat and stared she might give in but no, she still went out. To be fair she was only gone just over half an hour and I didn’t really mind. When Nix got home I had jumped up on the sofa and was fast asleep. I didn’t actually hear her come in until she started panicking. She couldn’t find her phone and decided it must have fallen out of her pocket at the church. She had taken her coat off and chucked it on a pew but thankfully some of the others found it and put it somewhere safe. Can I tell you Nix was panic stricken, there is no way she could have got a new one and she had no idea how she could cope

 I forgot to tell you yesterday that I was going for my flush this morning. We managed to make it on time but it was very foggy. The good thing about the fog was that Nix wasn’t able to see the actual cliffs. She said just knowing they were there was enough to put her stomach in a knot but she was very brave. Bron wasn’t going to do a culture or bloods this time as everything’s been fine recently but after I had my procedure she was just a little worried as my wee was a bit cloudy and when she withdrew the special needle (which doesn’t go in my skin) there was a little bit of blood. Because of my history of Autoimmune Thrombocytopenia she thought it was best to check my platelets. She is also going to get a culture done just to be on the safe side.   On the way home from seeing Bron we called in to see Caroline an old friend from church in London. She lives in Saltdean now which is very near the vets and her dog Lottie goes to see Bron as well. When we got there Lottie was out with a d

  Nix and I have just had fish and chips as a treat. I had chips as well as fish because Nix said just the one time wouldn’t hurt especially as I seem to get away with eating a lot of rubbish on the beach.  Nix said she needed cheering up as the last couple of days have been one thing after another. First of all my new insurance quote came in for the next year and Nix nearly had a heart attack. She is already paying £160 a month and it’s gone up to £200 🫢 Good job we got the fish and chips while we can still afford them! Next thing the house insurance renewal came in and for some bizarre reason it had doubled! She’s on one of those comparison thingies as we speak trying to find something cheaper. She was just about coping with everything when her diary reminded her that the car’s MOT is due next week! I think the fish and chips would have sufficed but at the end of the service this morning in church there was an announcement that our lovely Rev Andrew is leaving us in a month or so. H

 Hi everyone…first things first. I got invited to go on a trip to the South Pole on the moon. There’s a thingy, named after a dog, a Rover or something and later on this year it’s going to the moon to look for ice and things. Nix won’t be coming because she doesn’t like flying but I shall enjoy it very much. Nix keeps saying it’s just a bit of fun but I’m excited about it now and I have my boarding pass so I know it’s for real. I’ll earn 238,855 air miles 🙂 Back here on earth things are much as usual. An early morning walk on the beach provided some excitement. I have a very good sense of smell, even better now I don’t hear or see very well. I smelled that fish from a long way away and I just took off so it’s a good job the shingle shifters aren’t there today...apparently. I found the fish and it was very yummy but Nix tricked me into letting it go. I growl at her if she tries to take it off me, just to be clear it’s the only time I ever growl at her.  We hadn’t been home long before

  We had an early walk in the dark before our Friday morning session. We didn’t go on the beach because yesterday evening about 8pm we were going to the beach in the dark and we saw a young man with what looked like an XL Bully which wasn’t muzzled. It kept looking across the road at us so we were a bit worried it might be there this morning. I didn’t mind, we had a nice walk round the block and then over into town. I knew the croissants would still be forthcoming so I was happy. We sit in a different place in church now because it was a bit breezy where we used to sit. I like the new place, it’s warmer and I have my own headrest. I’m also right next to Terry who I like very much and I did keep trying to go and sit with him. He said he didn’t mind but Nix said he probably did but was just being polite. Anyway I’m going to have to have my bed out of his reach next week 🫢 This afternoon we have been to the Recycling place.  Nix has been defrosting the fridge/freezer for what seems to be a lifetime. Her own fault, she didn’t close the freezer door properly last night so it all melted over night and then she pushed the door closed this morning and it all froze up again. She could hardly get the door open then so she’s had to completely de freeze the whole thing. Anyway it’s all done now and she’s feeling very pleased with herself but the amount of ice that came out of that freezer was very scary.  This afternoon we went for a wander into town and a mooch round the churchyard. One of the charity shops won’t let dogs in any longer and Nix wondered why. She asked in one of the other shops and they said there’d been ‘an incident’ but wouldn’t say what. It’s driving Nix mad now because she really wants to know🤣  This afternoon we have had a visit from Jackie and Catherine and Indie too of course. I helped myself to a fairy cake that was on the coffee table because I work on the theory that if it’s within reach
