The New Front Door has Arrived…

Image
How I’m meant to write a blog when I’ve been stuck indoors all day I really don’t know. Nix’s new front door arrived and I was expecting tears as she bid goodbye to the old one. She really loved that door but the point is it let the rain in. Anyway the new one looks exactly like the old one even though it’s ‘fake wood’ as Nix puts it but she says if she doesn’t think about it too much she can get through the trauma…seriously πŸ™„ To be honest with her eyesight I’m surprised she can tell the difference anyway 🀣  I sat and watched all morning while the new door was fitted by Lee. I cannot understand why humans can’t see why I wouldn’t be remotely bothered by the very loud drill but when Nix sneezed I ran into the garden terrified. I don’t like sneezing, what can I say but with drills, I am a brave Bear πŸ™„ We did have a quick trip to the beach because Lee wanted to make a little bit of cement to make a repair and he had no sand. We went and collected some for him to save him driving to th

We’ve Been to Look at the Old WW2 Pillboxes

We had such a busy day yesterday, neither Nix nor myself woke up at the usual time this morning, I quite liked having a sleep in and we might do it more often πŸ˜‡ We went to The Pollinator on the beach for breakfast and Bollow was there. I wanted that croissant so bad and so did Bollow but no plan was hatched in time so Nix ate it all except for the tiniest morsel which she gave to me.  This afternoon Nix binge watched New Amsterdam and sat so long on her comfy sofa she had a job getting up. I can see she will be getting one of those chairs soon that chuck you out of them 🀣 This afternoon we have been back to our old walk down by the airport. The path has been closed for over a year while the humans built something to stop us all getting flooded. The first one they built didn’t work so let’s hope this one does because as you know Nix can’t swim.  We passed some of the old pillboxes which have survived since WW2. They are bunkers and were built so we could protect our country against a

Erm church didn’t go quite so smoothly this morning. I mean it obviously wasn’t my fault because how was I to know I was going to accidentally swallow a prickly thing on the way and get it stuck in my throat. As you know when this happens there is the need to eat anything green so I’m able to be sick. Nix said there was no way she was taking me in to church like that so I would have to go home and she would go alone. Miraculously my throat cleared, I had a drink and off we went.  Now personally I can’t see the problem with tidying up my manly bits in church, I don’t think God would mind. Nix on the other hand did mind and said I was embarrassing and it was the slurping that was particularly annoying…especially in the quiet bits. We then went outside so the congregation could sing a hymn and Nix got a bit confused as to where to stand as there were two vicars. We went and stood where a group of people were standing and Nix was having a good old sing when she realised she was being cond

We went to the beach this morning and we stopped for a cup of tea. Freddie was there, he is very annoying and I had to tell him off a couple of times. Didn’t really make any difference 🀣 I did meet a very pretty Romanian dog but she was very nervous.  After we got back Nix went back to the beach with Jackie sans moi! Apparently they were in the water and Nix felt something on her leg, she screamed and looked down and saw something black. She screamed again, Jackie screamed and then they both realised it was Jackie’s foot. So embarrassing, thank goodness I wasn’t there. Also they’ve both got these swimming robe thingies that they wear so when they come out of the water they can just put them on and walk home. They march down to the beach in their robes with their boards under their arms and are then presumably a major disappointment to anyone who is looking as neither of them can actually swim 🀣🀣🀣  This afternoon we were going to the woods but we got stuck in traffic because there

Very Busy Beardie Today πŸ˜‡

Image
I’ve been a very busy Beardie today and I am now exhausted. I know I always crash out in the garden after walks but I’ve been in the river today and the bedding is so much better at blotting the water than the paving stones are. Plus…and I hate to have to tell you this…Nix snuck out to the  beach without telling me and it was only because I was asleep in the garden that I didn’t hear her go. Yes I know I didn’t wake up until she came back but that’s not the point is it? I could have woken up sooner and been very traumatised. Let’s not forget I arrived at Nix’s complete with my separation anxiety…it’s really not good enough. So anyway lovely walk on the beach this morning, lots of sand and lots of dogs and ideal all round really. Only the addition of a BCJ would have completed my joy. I went to sleep in the garden when we got back and this is why I didn’t hear Nix go out. I made a mental note not to sleep out there again.  This afternoon we have been to the river and it was very nice.

A Lady Today Said I Looked Like a Dressage Horse πŸ˜‡

Image
I’ve had a rather leisurely day today while Nix has been quite busy. This morning we did have a lovely walk on the beach  and a lady said I looked just like a dressage horse. I didn’t quite catch what Nix’s response was but it had something to do wth ’a bucking bronco’…can’t think who she could have been talking about πŸ˜‡ We did see a Reggie Perrin on the beach, hope it’s not still there this afternoon because I don’t like them.  After our walk we drove to the station to pick up Nix’s friend Beth. We called in at The Artisan to pick up something for their lunch because as you know, Nix is far too lazy to cook. They had  frittata thingies whatever they are, not my cup of tea. I stuck with the haggis treats from Liz.   While Beth was here Nix put some highlights in her hair and then Nix got Beth to take a photo of her next to the Sulking Room Pink front door. It had a stay of execution from last Monday and is now being replaced on Tuesday much to Nix’s distress πŸ™„ After we’d taken Beth

Worthing Market Today πŸ˜‡

Nix has to go to the dentist as she has toothache and she keeps saying she’ll call to make the appointment but she hasn’t yet…I think she’s scared 🀣 This morning we had a nice walk on the beach as the tide was low. There were lots of people down, mainly dog walkers and swimmers but unfortunately no BCJ. Someone left a rucksack thingy on the beach and I didn’t like it and wouldn’t go past it. Barking at it didn’t seem to make much difference so in the end I just ran. I was going to wee on it on the way past but I was warned off.  Nix says she is feeling a little more relaxed than she has in ages as we haven’t seen you know who but apparently I’m very annoying on our last walk round the block. We’ve bumped into him on numerous occasions on that walk so of course I’m on high alert. As soon as I see anyone walking towards us I start ‘jumping about and whining’ even when they don’t even have a dog. Nix says my eyesight is worse than hers which is clearly erroneous πŸ™„ This afternoon we hav
