The Adventures of Fripp

  Today has been wet, wet, wet! We got very wet this morning, then we got very wet at lunchtime and then just as we’d dried off we got very wet again on our way to the vicarage. Nix is doing the Lent course with Rev’d Jane so it was very nice to see Gracie of course because that’s where she lives. Trouble is Gracie had a bed and some toys and I was pretty desperate to get at those toys. I probably wasn’t as well behaved as I was last night at the PCC meeting because there I went straight to sleep in my bed. There was nothing interesting there at all once the biscuits were finished so nothing else to do except sleep. The vicarage was a different story altogether of course because there were Gracie smells and beds and toys…it was all a bit too much. I did go to sleep eventually after one bid for freedom to the next rom where all Gracie’s toys were.  After our morning walk I was expected to go to sleep while Nix went out for half hour. Nope, I’m not having that, I knew she wanted to go out so I went to sleep until five minutes before she was due to leave and then I woke up. I got to go too but I did have to sleep in the car while she did her thing. I like that, it’s cosy in the back and it’s better than staying home on my own. Nix could keep an eye on the car so she didn’t worry though she did rush back when she’d finished but I was fast asleep.  This afternoon we have been to Buckingham Park which was a bit muddy but I still had a good time. I had a stand off with another dog, Nix thought we were going to be there all day. I’ve now got muddy paws and it’s the PCC meeting this evening which I shall be attending though I shan’t be voting. If there’s anything dog related on the agenda I expect I’d be voting then 🙂 It’s Nix’s Lent course starting tomorrow and she’s meant to have read the first two chapters of a book. That’l...

 You know that big treat I had yesterday, the one I started in the car and finished when I got home…well it didn’t stay down for very long, about an hour and then it came back up again…in Nix’s hallway. She said it was absolutely disgusting and took her ages to clean up and now it looks like I won’t be getting that one again and that’s really annoying because I really enjoyed it 😕  To tell you the truth Nix isn’t really sure whether that smelly old fish head I found yesterday might have caused the problem. I don’t think so because as you know I frequently find some and it’s never made me poorly before. Anyway I found the same old fish head this morning and managed a couple of mouthfuls before Nix got it off me by tricking me.  I bet I won’t be poorly today though because I really do like those fish heads and they definitely agree with me.  I’ve had quite a busy day today though I think I might have slept through most of it. I was awake for my early morning walk on the beach and I’m happy to say that it looks like the shingle shifters have gone. They have flattened the beach out so now it’s a lot easier to get at the yummies further down by the sea😋  We hadn’t been home long when we set out again for church. I had to wear my pink woolly jumper as all my other coats were wet as it hasn’t stopped raining. It wouldn’t be my choice for church, it’s a bit too feminine for my liking but then we are an ‘inclusive church’ so I probably fitted in very well 🤣 Cherry the puppy was there, she is very well behaved for someone so young. I’m not sure why she was getting custard creams in the church hall when I wasn’t…oh hold on, Nix is saying to tell the truth. Okay I might have had one custard cream all to myself but then I’m a lot bigger than Cherry.  After church we went straight over to the pet shop as we’d run out ...

  This morning was very exciting as we went to meet my old friend Barney. We used to walk together when we all lived in Hove and we are very good friends. Barney always used to want me to play but as you know I don’t really do that…he is nearly twelve now so he wasn’t so bothered. I think Nix found an old video of us up on Devils Dyke speaking of which Nix said we might go there next week if we have a sunny day but that doesn’t look very likely at the moment. I think this is going to be a very short blog today as I  feel like sleeping for a bit longer. I might just arise to have my lunch and as it doesn’t look very nice out, I might as well go back to sleep. As you know Nix’s life isn’t very interesting so I can’t see her having much to write about.  For your information I did get up and have my lunch and Nix had three giant prawns for me as an extra treat. They were in her fish pie and she doesn’t like them…I do, I love them.  Going back to bed now 😴

 I might have been a bit naughty, just a bit. I personally don’t think any of it was actually my fault but see what you think. I suppose I did wake Nix up at 3.30am this morning sticking my head round the blinds so I could look out. She thought I might need the loo so she let me out in the garden. I did not want the loo, I didn’t really even want to go out into the garden in the dark, I just wanted to look out of the window. Just because Nix has to go to the loo in the middle of the night doesn’t mean that everyone else does too 🙄 Anyway as we have to leave home quite early on a Friday and as I’d ‘messed her around’ for over an hour she decided to stay awake. That was never going to work…she stayed awake until about half an hour before she had to get up and then fell asleep. So as you can imagine, she wasn’t in the best of moods as we set out for church.
