The Adventures of Fripp

 So there are three ways of me getting into the garden. Nix never uses the side door so I am left with two options. Both of the bedrooms have French (of course) doors leading to the garden. I much prefer exiting through the main bedroom doors in the morning as when I am ready to go for my first walk I can sit in the doorway and stare at Nix who is still in bed. This does not work if I am forced to exit through the spare bedroom like a tradesperson and I am thinking I might start a petition… All Beardies must have direct and immediate access to the garden. I finally got Nix out of bed and we headed for the beach. Guess what, when we got past the exit where I did an unexpected departure the other day she let me off my lead. I was so happy I cantered all the way up the boardwalk. This had the required effect and made Nix feel really guilty about making me stay on my lead and I am expecting to have a free run of the beach from now on 😇 As the tide was right out we came home along the ...

 It’s very windy today as you will see from the photos and I’m sure you’ll be pleased to see that today there are only photos of moi, no trifles and can I also just say it is not true that the trifle got more comments than my photos 🙄 This morning we set off for church and as per usual got half way there when Nix realised she’d left something at home. Last week it was her mask, this week it was her phone and no phone equals no photos of moi so we had to go back and get it. It was very cold in church as we have to leave the doors open and Nix had her hat and gloves on…shocking circulation. Our friend Sally offered Nix her coat to put over her knees. Nix was going to say yes and then decided it might make her look like an old person so she politely refused 🤣 I usually lie down for the service and sometimes have a little sleep but I do like to stand when the congregation stands.  This is mainly because I think Nix is leaving and she might forget me too, you know what her memory...

 Today it is 10 years since Billy my predecessor died. It was only then that Nix joined the Friendly Beardie Club and what a good decision that was. She heard about moi and that I was looking for a home and she decided I should come to England and live with her and Ruby cat. I was two then and I’m going to be 12 in January. I shall post only photos of Billy today in his memory. Apparently he used to get on with the cat, can’t think what was wrong with him. Now yesterday I posted a photograph of Nix’s trifle. This got far too many comments for my liking especially as it didn’t even have any decorations on it. I don’t think it’s too much of an exaggeration to say that some of you were a bit obsessed with it. It’s really not that difficult to make and so I feel a little less attention next time would be the better way to go. Nix is just a little bit full of herself after all the comments and she’s threatening to make another one and post a photo of it with all its decoration....

 So miraculously the trifle got finished last night albeit bereft of decoration because Nix didn’t buy enough raspberries. She had a bowlful (or 2) and was satisfied that it was very tasty indeed. I was not allowed any, just a smidgen of cream and it was indeed a smidgen. I wouldn’t mind but cream is on the list of things I’m allowed so really I could have had a whole bowlful. It wasn’t long before Nix was regretting downing two bowls because her tummy was not amused. I expect it was the shock of getting something that was actually homemade 🤣 The rest of the trifle is sitting in the fridge while Nix decides if it is worth the risk of trying again. Might I suggest just the one bowl this time, a small one 🤣 We had an early walk on the beach this morning, it was still a bit dark and then Friday meditation and tea and croissants afterwards. We walked back home across the footbridge so I could have a little rest before we went out again with Indie from next door. There was a notice on...

 This morning I was allowed off my lead on the beach as the tide was low and we could walk a long way from the boardwalk. If only Nix knew that I’d be up to that boardwalk in seconds if I sensed you know who was there. We bumped into Otto the Labrador and I think he agrees with me about the BCJ…we don’t like him.  We went down the river this afternoon and I met a new friend called Austin. He was named after someone called Austin Powers because he came over from Ireland so he’s apparently an international man of mystery…does that mean I’m an international man of mystery too, I’d like to be 😇 Nix started her second attempt at the trifle this morning 🙄 Let’s just say thank goodness for Google 🤣 At the moment the first half is chilling in the fridge which is a miracle in itself...the new trifle bowl wouldn’t fit in so she had to remove a shelf 🤣 She’s already used up all the raspberries so there’s none left to decorate with but I suppose as long as it tastes okay.  I shal...

 It’s like a summers day today, the sun is out and it’s lovely and warm. All was going really well until we went over to the vets to collect my medication. This is always stressful for Nix because every single times she orders it they say they will text her when it’s in.  No text arrives after three days so she calls again. This time they ask her if she wants a prescription or the medication. Nix says she ordered the medication so they say okay they’ll have to change the request from prescription to medication. Nix says she never ordered a prescription in the first place and she was really hoping  to pick the meds up today  and they say that’s fine, they’re waiting for her! We get there and Nix can’t go in now because of the virus thingy so she has to call from the car. She calls to say we’re outside and can we collect Fripp’s medication. The girl asks if that’s a prescription or the actual meds. At this point I really did think Nix was going to explode 🤣 Suffice it...

 I’ve been to the woods today after an early start this morning. I’ve chased squirrels and had  a really good time…I told you Nix would give in! I found a lovely stream to paddle in but Nix wasn’t of the same opinion. She had the cheek to say that I stank when I came out. That’s okay, it meant we got to go to the beach too so I could get nice and clean 🤭  Before we went to the woods we did have to wait for the Sainsbury’s van with my turkey mince. I like to look out of the window for him to arrive and give him a suitable greeting when he gets here. My mince arrived safely and Nix will be preparing that as soon as possible as I am running a bit low. Nix also ordered more ingredients for her second attempt at making a trifle. She has bought a special trifle bowl, as if that will make any difference 🙄 We’re home now and I’m resting with my head in Nix’s lap, it’s one of my favourite spots.
