The Adventures of Fripp

 So I got my walk to the woods and the beach and got my lemon drizzle cake...well I got a miserably small piece of it which is rather unfair to moi je pense.  Nix says it’s not good for me but that’s just because she wants it all for herself. We did bring some home too and I did get another bite and a big bowl of my turkey mince which Nix says is the wrong way round and the cake should have been my dessert. Humans are so fussy, us dogs just eat it as it comes 🙄 Did you notice Nix got the bone china out for the photograph because she thinks everyone will think she drinks her tea out of it every day...nope! That bone china was her mum’s and it hasn’t seen the light of day for years, she drinks her tea out of a mug like the rest of us 🤣 Lots of you want to be able to read the book sur moi but there is only the one copy.  Well we’ve had quite a busy day. Nix has been watching the funeral of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and she has been crying a lot. I’m not sure why, she doesn’t really know him but she said it was the soldiers that set her off. Nix is very proud of being British and she’s said that  because of my recent fame then I can become a British citizen too...I am very happy about that. Nix said she was happy too to see William and Harry chatting to each other even though she thinks Harry has been a bit naughty. I don’t personally think there is anything wrong with being a bit naughty, better than being boring.  The queen had to sit on her own and she looked very sad, I don’t like it when people are sad.  On a lighter note Nix’s friend Tracy came to visit this morning and Nix got a big hug.   Nix had her Zoom thingy this morning so we had a quick walk down the beach first and then afterwards we went to our favourite place, Devil’s Dyke.  We saw a buzzard flying in the sky and we heard the skykarks too. We got home by about 11.30am but although I was very tired and had a bit of a nap I kept waking up because we usually go out at 11.30. It was very confusing, I was tired but felt I should  have been going out for a walk so thought it was worth giving Nix ‘the glare’ but didn’t seem to work this time!  The humans are calling today ‘al fresco Friday...this is because they’re allowed to meet their friends outside pubs and cafes and eat outside. Nix says we’re staying home because the humans go a bit mad when they’ve had a few drinks and there’s ‘bound to be trouble’ 🤣 In London where Nix used to live with Billy my predecessor they are closing Primrose Hill for the whole weekend.  It’s an early blog today because Nix and I are very excited. Look what has arrived with the postman...a big book and it’s all about moi 👏👏👏 The wonderful Kathleen Depew decided to make my blog into a book. She did it as a surprise for us and it is very wonderful. It must have taken her a long long time because it goes back a whole year and we feel very honoured that she chose to do it for us.  I know lots of you always wanted Nix to make my blog into a book but it’s almost impossible to get one published if you’re not already a recognised author but maybe now we have this we might be able to persuade a publisher to give it a go.  This book is very big and quite heavy, it measures 30cmx30cm and it’s like one of those very posh coffee table art book thingies which I feel is befitting of my standing in life. Kathleen...thank you so much for this, it’s just the best present ever... 😘😘😘

 Today has been a very good day and I have been a very good boy. This is because I was threatened that if I did not behave I would not be going on an exciting car journey later in the day... or ever again.  So this morning we went to the beach as usual but we didn’t go too far as I had to conserve my strength for later on when we were going to the Bluebird Café to meet Willow and her mum and dad Sheila and Ron. Nix was very happy to be meeting them because although the humans were  released on Monday, she hasn’t actually been anywhere yet. This will be because she doesn’t actually have any friends. She thought Sheila and Ron wanted to meet her this morning but of course we all know it was moi they wanted to see.  Willow is very pretty, she had a pink bow in her hair but I pretended I wasn’t interested...I’m not sure why I do that really. She brought me a toy, I think it’s a cow but I really love it because it’s got balls instead of feet...I squeaked it all the way ho...

  Well the Tesco man has been with the turkey mince and Nix has been slaving over a hot stove (her words, definitely not mine) and I have been busy digging the bed up. I know I came home wet from the beach this morning but seriously...there were four different covers on that bed including the towel. I don’t like that, it gets too hot! After Nix had finished cooking my food she went out to put some plants in her new planters. She took a small knife out with her to open the bag of soil and when she’d finished she couldn’t find the knife...again. This happened the other day and she found it in her neighbours garden but only after she’d emptied half the soil out looking for it. Would you believe she’s done the same again today but this time no sign of the knife. “It could be anywhere” she kept saying. Out came more soil and a mooch through the neighbours shrubs but no sign of it. She spent hours looking for it, I probably should have told her she’d taken it down to the summer house wit...

 Here in England it’s the humans’ day of freedom today and guess what...it snowed for the first time this year 🤣 🤣🤣Didn’t seem to make any difference, the park was empty and all the poor doggies were sitting outside the cafes and pubs while their humans drank their beer. I’m glad Nix doesn’t drink the beer, I got to have a walk in the park and down the river. Who wants to sit outside a cafe in the rain, it’s much more fun down by the river in the mud.  I found my Meerkat this morning, it had slipped under the bed. When I was very poorly three years ago Nix bought it for me. I had it in my crate in the hospital while I was recovering and it smelled of Nix and made me feel better. She told me afterwards she had driven all the way with it under her armpit so it would smell of her. I think that sounds quite dangerous.  By the way, when I was in the park I was a very good boy. I jumped up on a bench and there was a cuddly toy that I really wanted. Nix explained that it didn...
