The Adventures of Fripp

 Nix and I are taking it easy today. It’s too hot really for me to go for a walk so we’re relaxing at home. We have been to church this morning but on the way there I spotted a ball in the sea and I ran in to get it and then of course I was too wet to take to church. We had to go all the way home so Nix could dry me off a bit and then she drove us to church. I was almost completely dry when we got there. Bollo was there this morning and I’m still a bit scared of him. Today is Rogation Sunday where we pray for the crops and the livestock. When Jane our vicar was saying the prayers she mentioned the animals and Bollo barked and made everybody laugh...I only laughed a bit 🤔 We haven’t really done anything interesting today since church so I have been sleeping in the cool. Nix has been out front watering the garden and I’ve been observing. I was going to have a nap there but it’s too hot.  On Tuesday I have my platelets checked so we’re hoping they’ve gone up and not down and on ...

 So Kathleen and Marshall are on the big flying thingy in the air and on their way home. We shall miss them a lot because we had lots of fun. The only thing was I was warned to be on my best behaviour which was quite tiring. There were only a couple of minor incidents but nothing to  write home about 😉 This morning Nix and I went to the beach and I got my photo taken with a yellow horned poppy which are quite rare now, bit like me 😇 We came home and I was asleep all morning and then we‘ve just been down to the beach again as we didn’t feel like driving today. We are home again now and Nix is looking at some of the gifts Kathleen and Marshall brought over. They both served in the Indianapolis police force and Nix absolutely loves the badges they gave her, I fear she is going to be attaching them to her jacket 🙄 It seems very quiet now it’s just me and Nix, I hope she doesn’t think she’s going to get away with lazing around all day.  Today is a very sad day, we have just dropped Kathleen and Marshall off at their hotel for the last time 😪  We have had a fantastic time showing them around and I have had lots of extra walks and Nix has had lots of boxes of Maltesers. To be honest I’m a bit tired today so I’m going to bed as soon as I’ve finished the blog.  This morning Kathleen and Marshall came to our Friday morning meditation with coffee and croissants afterwards. On the way home we all got very wet because it rained a lot. We sheltered in a coffee shop for a while and Kathleen showed Nix photos of her dogs wearing their raincoats. I hope Nix isn’t thinking of getting me one, they had ducks on them and there were hoods 😱 It eventually stopped raining and the sun came out so this afternoon we all went to the Bluebird Cafe in Ferring.  We had a really bad storm last night. The skies were very loud and bright, I didn’t like it. I knew it was coming the day before because I was acting weirdly apparently. Anyway it quietened down and Nix and I went to bed. We were fast asleep when there was a huge bang in the sky and all the room lit up. It really scared me and I’m afraid I wee’d myself…in the new bed 🤭 Nix woke up too and knew something at happened so she felt in the bed in the dark and… well you can guess. She picked the bed up to take it outside but I’d done such a big wee it ran out all over Nix’s bare feet and all over the bedroom floor. She got the bed outside and then out came the mop and bucket so I went to bed in the spare room because the noises had stopped. It rained so much overnight that my bed was really clean this morning and during the day it’s dried out in the sun so I shall be sleeping in it tonight 🙂 Nix and I have had a great time today.  We are very late again aren’t we, that’s because Kathleen and Marshall have been visiting again. We went to Devil’s Dyke this morning, that’s the second time in a week for moi 🙂 We had a very good time but I found something really interesting to roll in and apparently I smelled really bad. Nix went slightly the wrong way because she was so busy complaining about my aroma and that meant we either had to go back again the way we’d come or climb up quite a steep hill. They went for the steep hill which wasn’t really that steep but it was painful to watch, they had to keep stopping. I’m twelve with arthritis and I didn’t have to stop once. Anyway thankfully they made it to the top with no cardiac arrests though this was a close thing. I think the pub waiting for them at the top spurred them on and finally they were able to sit down and rest. I feel a second paragraph is necessary for the luncheon fiasco.   Today is very hot indeed so we have been keeping to the shade. Lots of people were taking their dogs up Southwick Hill but we think it is too hot so we stayed in the woods. We met a very nice man with an iPad and no dog but he was just inspecting the trees, he was very interesting and he really liked me 😇 We came back along the bottom of the field which was still in the shade and it was very nice until this huge farm tractor thingie was coming towards us with a big arm and it was spraying the field and the path we were walking on. We didn’t think he was going to stop so Nix grabbed me and we went back the way we’d come…it was quite scary because Nix thought we were either going to get run over or sprayed with fertiliser or something worse 😱 Nix’s iPad has given up the ghost, it won’t do what she tells it. She says it’s just like moi🤣 I’ve had to leave the room, watching her stabbing at the screen and getting really annoyed is exhausting. I peeped in just now and she’s battling...

  Well this is all very late isn’t it, we have had a very busy day. First of all I went to see the groomer and I am wearing my hair longer. It will be the last time though as I do find it hard to stand for so long and my groomer thinks it is fairer that I am shorter. I do get hot too when the weather is warm so I think I shall like being shorter too. When Nix saw me today all shampooed and long she thought I looked very handsome. I thought so too and a lot of people stopped to stroke me and said I was very soft.  The best bit of the day was when we had visitors all the way from Indianapolis in America. It was of course Kathleen Depew and her husband Marshall. We have never met them before but Kathleen had the books made of my blog so she and Nix have messaged a lot. They have been on a cruise and they stopped off at Southampton and now they are staying in Brighton. We have had a lovely day today, I showed them around Shoreham and we took lots of photos.
