The Adventures of Fripp

 Nix has scrubbed the rug three times now and she says it will never be the same again, she doesn’t seem to mind however so that’s okay. We had a very good night, as discussed the garden door stayed open all night and I was in my bed right in front of it guarding. This meant that Nix slept through the whole night and we both had quite a long lay in this morning. When we eventually did get up, we went to the beach but unfortunately it started to rain and we both got really wet. We hadn’t been back that long when Jackie came to visit to see how we were. That was very nice because Nix asked her to take some pictures of us together because we don’t have that many. I’m a bit bedraggled because of the rain.  Bron called this morning and the plan is to go visit her next Friday in her new practice and she will take some of my blood to test and see how much my kidneys have deteriorated. Because I’m not taking any of my medication she has suggested a liquid version of paracetamol which...

 So, as you know, I do like to be out in the garden for most of the night. Nix usually goes to bed and after she’s finished watching one of her programmes I’ve quite often come back in and I’m asleep in my bed. At this point, she closes the door but last night after about half an hour, I woke her up and asked to go out again. Do you know what she said to me, she said, “you’ve only just come inside, you’ve been out there for hours, you can’t possibly want to go outside again“ and she didn’t open the door for me. Well, it’s not my fault is it if I do a big poopy on her new rug, hopefully she will have learnt her lesson. We had a short walk on the beach this morning and that was  very nice. I then slept for most of the morning but suddenly the sun came out and I felt like going for a walk.  I meant to say yesterday that Nix and I have our night time routine worked out perfectly. She goes to sleep, I wake her up by getting caught behind the blinds, she opens the door to let me out and then uses her Heath Robinson affair to make sure the door will stay exactly halfway open. I have a long drink of water from the bowl in the garden, gaze at a few stars and depending on my mood and the weather, either come back inside and go to bed or go to sleep in the garden. This generally happens three times each night which Nix seems to think is too many but it suits me perfectly 🙂 She was so tired last night that she let me out at midnight and went back to bed and didn’t wake up again until this morning! I actually came straight back in at midnight and slept in my bed in front of the open door…very nice 😴 I felt quite energetic this morning after a good night’s sleep and so decided we should walk a little way up the beach.   Well hello everyone, I am feeling quite a lot better today. I was a bit poorly yesterday and didn’t really eat anything but then later on in the evening I did have some of my turkey mince with pasta. This morning I still didn’t feel brilliant and Nix has said we won’t go to our Tuesday morning communion any longer because it’s an extra couple of times I have to get in and out of the car which I don’t enjoy so much these days. Anyway when we got back this morning I did eat some of my food and since then I’ve demolished (Nix’s words) two more bowls.  This morning it was still very windy and then it started to drizzle just as we were walking along the beach by the church. When we got back to the church Nix sat by the radiator and put my bed next to it, that was rather nice.   It’s been a horrible day today, very very windy and Nix and I nearly got blown over when we tried to go out. Consequently, I haven’t really had much exercise today. I have been sleeping a lot which I do like, but I haven’t eaten anything at all so far today so Nix is a bit worried of course. I might eat something a bit later, sometimes I do do that but I’m enjoying sleeping today. Nix says the wind will stop tomorrow and then we can go out again. We don’t mind getting wet but we don’t like being blown over.  Nix had the Zoom call this morning with the police. The policeman, Dave he was called, was very nice and said that they could take him to court but obviously Nix didn’t want that. She asked if they would contact him and tell him it’s not acceptable to follow a lady home. He said he was happy to do that but he did wonder whether it might cause him to come round here ranting and raving. He has suggested instead that they put a marker on my name and address so if ever there is...

 It’s been such a horrible day today we haven’t really been out very much at all. We did go to church this morning but when we left it was so windy and so wet and Nix was trying to hold onto my bed and I was nearly getting blown over. When we left after having coffee, the weather had got even worse and so I had a quick wee on the corner of the road and then we went in. As we weren’t going out for walks, Nix spent some time looking at our new vets that we’re going to and it looks like it’s a really lovely  place. It’s a privately owned practice and doesn’t belong to a giant organisation so hopefully that will be much nicer. Nix will cut and paste some bits of information from their website so you can all see what sort of place will be looking after me though of course it will mainly be Bron.  The website says things like, 'We do not answer to anonymous shareholders, an aloof headquarters or their financial targets.'  I’ve had a very lovely day today. This morning the boardwalk was a bit icy so we walked along by the houses where there is grass growing over the pebbles. It’s a lot easier for Nix and myself to walk on and we don’t want to slip over. We go out quite a bit later these days so we are meeting new friends which is very nice. I actually prefer the people to the dogs 🫢 This afternoon we went to Brooklands Park and it was so lovely and sunny and I had such a good time. I met lots of very nice humans and got lots of fuss and quite a few treats. I think we might go there again if the sun stays out though tomorrow we have gale force winds again.  Our lovely afternoon was slightly ruined by rather horrible man. As we were driving home, he pulled out in front of Nix and so she just sounded her horn once and we carried on home. We drove into our driveway and this car pulled up blocking the exit.
