Brooklands Park Today…

 


I’ve had a very good time today. I thought we might be stuck indoors for a lot of today because Nix had hurt her back trying to move a railway carriage door (don’t ask) and her hip was painful too. She was limping this morning on our walk so I feared the worst. Amazingly by lunchtime she felt much better and we set off in the car for Brooklands Park as there is lots of grass there. I wanted to go in the lake but Nix said no in case I couldn’t get out again and she wasn’t coming in after me. Instead we went to the new café which was very nice but I think Nix is going to have to make sure her toast isn’t made from sour dough otherwise she is going to need some new teeth 😬







I haven’t had any more falls at all and I am trotting again so Nix and I are both happy. Actually Nix finds it quite hard to keep up with me and you know she like to keep her eye on me. Bron my vet will be back in a week so I think Nix and I are going to pay her a visit just to chat over my latest symptoms which are as follows…

Sometimes when the mood takes me I start doing this weird humping thing all on my own. Nix says it looks like some weird sort of fertility dance and it’s embarrassing mainly because everyone stares. So far I haven’t done it in church 🙂 





The other thing I do but not very often is I make this weird noise with my throat, apparently it’s like a cross between someone wretching and someone choking. It only lasts a few seconds and I probably only do it once a week and never after eating. I’m fine immediately afterwards and wonder why everyone is staring at me…it’s quite noisy apparently. So far I haven’t done that in church either 😇




Nix will also show Bron videos of me kicking my back leg out for no apparent reason, even I don’t know why I do it. 



I should make it clear here that no one, not Nix, not Bron, not any of the lovely vet nurses are ever going to make me open my mouth so any suggestions of looking inside my mouth aren’t going to happen. Just thought I’d save you all wasting your time suggesting it 🥰

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
