A Quiet Day Today…


 

Honestly, you take one day off and Nix is catastrophising over my state of health. Yes, my bloods weren’t brilliant but they’ve been a lot worse, I’m still here and intend to be here for awhile yet 🙂🙏




As you may know, I have gone off the custard cream balls. This has caused some problems in getting my medication down me. Nix drove up to the big supermarket and now has a fridge full of  various pâtés, corned beef, ham, chicken, peanut butter, cocktail sausages and hot dog sausages and…spam. I only like the corned beef and so far I have been taking my medication in this so Nix is happy 🙂





When we go out for our walks Nix lets me take the lead. I always go over the bridge into town because I’m not keen on being in the car at the moment and I do love the churchyard. There are lots of good smells and lots of interesting dogs to meet…it’s the perfect walk for me. We still go down the boardwalk in the mornings but we have to be careful because it’s a bit slippy at the moment. 





We had a bit of a disaster this morning. I stopped to do my first wee which is always a long one and Nix couldn’t see anything landing on the ground. She then realised that my red coat was in such a position that it was filling up with my wee. We had to go home again and I got a clean coat put on. It’s never done that before, Nix thinks it’s because I don’t cock my leg any longer I sort of just stand there and wee.  



I do feel okay today, I’ve been playing with some of my toys but I have mainly been asleep. Nix says thank you for all the lovely messages, it means a lot.

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. Christmas Is Coming And We Have New Vicar 😋

So we had a very exciting morning at church…actually Nix did, I was asleep for most of it. Nix and the other churchwarden Kay were able to announce to the church that they have a new vicar. They have been unable to tell anyone about it until certain checks had been done so it’s been quite difficult for them. Now everyone knows and we are all looking forward to Rev Dominic Fenton coming to join us. He had to tell his church this morning that he would be leaving so that would’ve been quite difficult for him I should imagine. I had my photo taken with Nicky and Donald after the service, they brought me biscuits 😋 We have a carol service this evening so we’ll be going back just after 5 o’clock as we’re on welcoming duty. Nix has got some fairy lights to wear around her neck but she’s not sure what the rules are in the Church of England.
