Such A Good Day…Sheepcote Valley
Nix and I have had the best day today. We went to Sheepcote Valley where we used to go when we lived in Hove so it’s at least six years since we’ve been there. I think Nix had forgotten how muddy it gets up there even though it’s quite high up. I had a lovely paddle and met lots of dogs and fell asleep as soon as I got in the car.
Yesterday was a bit of a grim day for Nix as you know. First of all there was the cling film in her vegan sausage roll. Then there was the hideous sweater that arrived that didn’t remotely resemble the one that she’d ordered. Then there was of course the boots that she treated herself to but never heard back from the company even though they’d taken the money out of her bank account. Nix did one of her CEO letters and guess what, the boots arrived this morning. She was in a joyous mood as they fitted perfectly and were very comfortable. The joyous mood lasted until she came out into the garden to look for moi. Our neighbour has added the promised screens to his gazebo. Nix said they’re not really too bad and it probably looks better than it did before, but she doesn’t think that they’re going to hide the disco lights 🫣
This morning I stayed on my own for a bit while Nix met Kay at the church as the glazier was coming to complete the porch windows. Nix and Kay had a good clear out again and now it looks very smart, if you don’t count the recycling bins. Kay and Nix are going to see if they can find something that looks more in keeping with a church porch.
When we were on the beach this morning we saw the big Cemex dredger leaving Shoreham Port. It is such a big boat and do you know, when they made it they made it to fit through the lock gates at Shoreham…the ones Nix is terrified to cross 🤣
You have had a busy day! It is always nice to return to a place you once visited often, I like doing that too. I am gla the rain stopped there so you and Nix can get out to enjoy yourselves. I hope the new screens cut down on the lights somewhat, I would not like that either. Enjoy the rest of your evening and have a good night's sleep. Hugs xxxxoooo
