Lots of Walks Today and Jackie Came For Lemon Drizzle



 A minor miracle has happened in this house, Nix just actually cooked a meal for herself. As you know she can be quite lazy but now she is saving to get the wall knocked down she decided it would be cheaper to cook for herself than eat ready meals. It was painful watching her get it all together but actually it turned out very tasty, I tried some…creamy smoked salmon pasta. She’s obsessed with the smart meter these days and she’s very pleased that it didn’t cost very much to make it. 




We’ve been out a few times today. First of all we went to the river and then over to the rec. The tide was too far out for a paddle though I could have done with one as it’s been very hot. We met a very nice sheepadoodle, I liked her a lot but Nix forgot to take a photo. I got a lot of compliments too about my tail and about how handsome I am.




After lunch we walked into town to take some clothes and stuff to the charity shop. We met a little boy on the way and he wanted to take me for a walk. I of course took full advantage of this and we got quite some distance ahead. That little boy could move  quite fast, much faster than Nix and I almost made it to the other side.  The little boy’s mother caught up with us in the end but it was great fun while it lasted. 


Jackie has been round for a cuppa this afternoon, they had lemon drizzle cake. When Nix was in the shop getting the cake I jumped into the front seat. The lemon drizzle had to go in the back where I usually go 🙂



Nix has been clearing out drawers and found a photo of her when she was about 21…1966! She is with her long term friend Sally who was a very good singer and could play guitar too. Nix thought she could sing as well until they played the tape back 😱

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
