Southwick Hill Today And Some Tidying 🙂

 


So…Nix had nothing planned for today so she decided to take me out later than normal last night so she could have a lay in this morning. As she is still coughing a bit when she wakes up I was able to give her the glare that said, “I don’t like this, take me out now…” We ended up going out to the beach at 7.30am which wasn’t part of Nix’s plan but we all know it’s best not to lay around when you’ve got a cough…walking is much better. 



I was forced to wait until gone lunchtime for my next walk because Nix had a package arriving. I wasn’t sure she was telling the truth to be honest and wondered whether she just wanted to laze around. Well a package did arrive so should probably take that back and we eventually set off for Southwick Hill. I had a very good time and I got to go through the wood and up the hill. The rapeseed is very pretty but I’m not allowed to go too close because it’s poisonous to dogs and the skylarks are in there too. 




Nix loves her new bed by the way, it’s got four drawers which she’s been able to fill with lots of my doggie stuff and all her bed linen. Everywhere actually looks quite tidy now for a change. I’m encouraging her to do a bit of tidying up in the garden while the sun’s out but apparently she’s not allowed in the sun while she’s taking the antibiotics. She also found out that the doxycycline that the doctor gave her is one of the antibiotics that can make you feel nauseous so that’s probably why she couldn’t eat her egg on toast yesterday. I’m not sure why she didn’t bring it home for me 😋

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
