The Smoked Mackerel Arrived Today 😋



 Gosh it’s a miserable day but I am very happy. I have to thank Julie Speed who sent Nix a photo of a fabulous bed that she might never have seen otherwise. I love it, it’s like a big paw and it’s got its own headboard too 😴 I think I’ve talked Nix round because I saw her looking at it. At first she thought she wouldn’t be able to keep it clean but guess what, it’s got a removable cushion so all you have to wash is the cushion cover. With my other donut beds Nix has to pull the sausage thingy out of the sides too so she can get the cover into the washing machine. Well you know how lazy she is, the thought of never having to wrestle with that sausage ever again has won her over. We must also thank Ginny Tennyson as she sent Nix some money to buy me a new yellow coat and between her and Nix, and the fact they live on either side of the pond, Nix has ended up with twice the amount she was meant to have. Ginny doesn’t want it back so what better way to spend it than on a new bed pour moi…with a headboard 🙂 Thank you Ginny 🙂




We had the café this morning and we bumped into Jackie and Indie on the way so they came too. Also…guess who else came to visit. Remember Fred the little white dog who was obsessed with me when we used to go to the Pollinator, well he came with his dad Andy. Fred is still very annoying but his dad gave me lots of cuddles. 




We are home now and the Sainsbury’s van has been. As you know I don’t get turkey mince any longer but instead I get some smoked mackerel to mix in with my kibble. I really really like it because as you know I am rather keen on dead fish 😋

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
