Face Masks Back Today for the Humans

 Did you know there’s a lot of Christmas films on TV at the moment, Nix really likes them and it’s difficult to drag her away and get a decent walk. They’re always set in America and there’s always a girl who goes from her job in the city and travels back to her hometown for various reasons but it always ends the same with her falling in love. There are usually cupcakes involved and the girl ends up moving back to her hometown and getting married. Nix loves the houses there, they are always made with wood and they are covered in Christmas lights and Nix wants to visit one of these towns one day. 



Anyway it was Sainsbury’s day today and I am a little disappointed that they didn’t bring my beans. That’s okay though because we shall have to walk into town and buy some fresh ones so an extra walk for me if I can drag Nix away from ‘Christmas at Holly Lodge’ 🙄 She was disappointed too because she said she’d get a Christmas cake for the church’s Christmas Fair and can you believe Sainsbury’s don’t sell actual ‘Christmas cake’ just ‘iced fruit cake’ The two things are probably the same but it made Nix sad to see that a big shop like Sainsbury’s didn’t sell ‘Christmas’ cakes. There are some politicians who’d like to get rid of Christmas but Nix says she’s not having that and she’s complained to Sainsbury’s. 




We’ve been down to the Widewater Lagoon this afternoon which is just five minutes down the road. It’s quite a miserable day and Nix thought it might be muddy so we could stay mud free there as there is a proper path to walk on. It’s always spoiled by the cyclists though, they go too fast and one of them nearly ran me over. We were going to have tea at the restaurant in Lancing but Nix remembered that humans have to wear masks inside from today and she didn’t have one with her. We went to look at the beach huts instead as they are very pretty. There’s also some wooden houses that Nix likes, they’re called lodges and are quite posh and the humans use them as holiday homes. They are very smart and I got my photo taken by them. 






Widewater Lagoon is a funny old place. Sometimes it has lots of water in it and sometimes not. It’s not joined to the sea but the sea water can come underneath and it also gets lots of water from the hills. I’m not allowed in there because it’s a proper nature reserve and I mustn’t frighten the wildlife.

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
