Storm Bert Will Be Gone Tomorrow πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

Nix just opened her raffle prize and there is a box of assorted biscuits including…custard creams πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ There is also a bottle of wine, some scented candles that smell all Christmassy, two boxes of chocolates and some pretty greetings cards with some of her favourite flowers on them like lilacs. It was a perfect gift and not only that, she has used the red ribbon to stop the French door from flying open during the night, the other ribbon was too slippy and kept falling off. Thank you Church of the Good Shepherd, Nix is very happy with her prize.  We haven’t done too much today because storm Bert is still making it very windy. We did go down the beach this morning but we nearly got blown over so we decided to stick to the roads just now as it’s less windy.  Tomorrow Jeannie is coming down from London so I am looking forward to that. Big Bad Bertie should have moved on and it looks like it might be sunny and quite warm. I think we shall be able to make up for the lack of ...

Church Of The Good Shepherd Christmas Fayre

It is soooo windy here Nix and I both nearly got blown over. When we woke up this morning we looked out of the window and everywhere was soaking wet. Nix put my waterproof fleecy lined coat on and she had her waterproof trousers and wellington boots and hat and gloves and when we opened the front door it wasn’t raining at all and was actually quite warm if a little windy. To say that we rather stood out from the crowd is probably a bit of an understatement I think.  I woke up just in time to set out for the church Christmas fair. We parked down the road and walked the last bit. It was really windy, Nix couldn’t get my door open as the wind kept blowing it shut. Eventually we made it and finally got to the church and guess what, I got to go into Santa’s Gotto but I didn’t get a present. I did however get a sausage when we went into the church hall and Nix had lemon drizzle of course. It was really crowded in there with lots of stalls and everyone was trying to get past me and...

Beth Came To Visit With Maltesers πŸ™‚

Image
We’ve had a very nice day today. The sun has been shining but it’s still been very cold. I wore my knitted coat this morning as it was a bit icy on the boardwalk but this afternoon I didn’t need it because the sun was quite warm.  Beth came to visit to get her hair done by Nix. Nix and Beth have been friends for over thirty years so it’s always nice to see her. She brought a massive box of Maltesers for Nix of which I shall see none but Nix did get me some treats of my own. They are used mainly at corners when I refuse to move forward…Nix is such a pushover πŸ˜‹ It’s the church’s Christmas fair tomorrow and it’s going to rain all day with 58mph winds. Good job it’s mainly indoors but not sure how many people will want to come out. There is going to be a Santa’s grotto so hopefully the children will drag their parents out.  After we dropped Beth at the station we went to Buckingham Park. It was really sunny but very cold. We were just about to drive home when Nix got one o...

Very Very Cold Today…πŸ₯Ά

Image
Guess what, it started to snow this morning when we were out on our walk. It didn’t last very long and has all disappeared now  but we were a bit wet when we got home. Nix was panicking about her new rug πŸ™„ Shall I tell you something, when Nix got up to use the loo in the night I was asleep in the lounge where it was nice and snug. It was freezing in the garden and so Nix closed the back door and I didn’t wake up until this morning. It was nearly 9am before we went for our walk and Nix was very happy!  I then slept for most of the morning, it was very nice. I do seem to sleep longer these days and this afternoon I didn’t wake up until about 2pm. It was freezing cold and so we have just walked into town. Neither of us wanted to get in the car and go somewhere wet and windy so today is a day to take it easy. After a walk round the churchyard Nix bought something yummy with cheese on it which I shared with her.  Tomorrow our friend Beth is coming to visit from London. ...

13th Anniversary Of Billy Beardie Travelling To The Bridge πŸ˜”

Can I just say that I have absolutely no idea why the smart meter read nearly £3 this morning when normally it would only be 90p. Nix seems to think it’s something to do with having the door wide open all night but I don’t see it myself as I was very snug in my bed in front of the open door. It wasn’t as cold as Nix will try to make out apart from the boardwalk which to be fair was a bit icy. Anyway we only have one more night of it being a tad chilly and then we’re back to summer again πŸ™‚πŸ˜Ž Today we have been to Hove Park to celebrate the life of Billy, Nix’s last Beardie. It’s 13 years today since he went to the rainbow bridge and he used to love Hove Park. He was already quite old when Nix moved from London to Hove so he didn’t get to see quite so much of the local scenery. I think Nix did take him to Devil‘s Dyke once but he couldn’t really walk very far. When Nix took me to Devils Dyke for the first time I followed a family right down to the bottom of the Dyke and Nix followe...
