Storm Bert Will Be Gone Tomorrow 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼



 Nix just opened her raffle prize and there is a box of assorted biscuits including…custard creams 😋😋😋 There is also a bottle of wine, some scented candles that smell all Christmassy, two boxes of chocolates and some pretty greetings cards with some of her favourite flowers on them like lilacs. It was a perfect gift and not only that, she has used the red ribbon to stop the French door from flying open during the night, the other ribbon was too slippy and kept falling off. Thank you Church of the Good Shepherd, Nix is very happy with her prize. 




We haven’t done too much today because storm Bert is still making it very windy. We did go down the beach this morning but we nearly got blown over so we decided to stick to the roads just now as it’s less windy. 



Tomorrow Jeannie is coming down from London so I am looking forward to that. Big Bad Bertie should have moved on and it looks like it might be sunny and quite warm. I think we shall be able to make up for the lack of walks today by going somewhere nice tomorrow. 




Having decided to give up chocolate it’s a bit unfortunate that there was so much chocolate in Nix’s raffle prize. I knew she wouldn’t be able to resist it but I’m still waiting for the box with the custard creams to be opened and shared…with moi 😋

    I am glad that Storm Bert wil be moving on and you can go out and not be blown away! We heard about it in the USA, it looked very bad. Nix's gift is very nice - a lot of goodies and nice things.  We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
