Tracy Came For Lunch…

 So we don’t have a lot of news today apart from the fact that we had a visit from Tracy this morning. I enjoyed that because I really like her and she sat in the bungalow while Nix took me for a short walk because we were waiting for the Sky engineer and Nix didn’t want to miss him. They said he would come between 12 noon and 5pm but that is a long time for me to go without a wee. Anyway we got back and he hadn’t arrived so Tracy set off home. I did get one photo of Tracy giving me a hug.



At 4.30pm the Sky man arrived. Nix said he wasn’t very friendly and walked in asking her what the problem was. She said she couldn’t get rid of the subtitles (they keep arriving each time she changes channels) so he took the remote and pressed a few buttons and of course the subtitles disappeared. Nix has been doing this hundreds of times for the last month or so and she wasn’t impressed when he said, “There you go, all sorted…”   Nix told him she did know how to do that and he said that not everyone does. Nix suggested it might be better not to assume that an almost 80 year old lady wouldn’t know. She suggested he try changing the channel and of course when he did back came the subtitles. He seemed really annoyed by this and so he should be I think, he made a bit of a ‘bottom’ of himself 🫢


He didn’t get any friendlier when he couldn’t get rid of the subtitles and started ‘mansplaining’ to Nix what was happening. He kept saying they should have done a CRF on it which Nix didn’t understand but guess what, neither did he because when Nix asked him what it stood for he said he didn’t know 🙄 She then told him that the only way she’d been able to get a Sky engineer to visit was by going through head office. Guess what, his whole personality changed and he became the friendliest Sky engineer on the planet.



Latest update is he installed a new Sky box and guess what, it happened again. He left telling Nix not to use the subtitles verbally but to change it with the remote which is a bit of a pain but he felt it was the vocal command that was causing the problem. Nix likes saying, “subtitles on” and “subtitles off” and now she can’t, she’s not happy. I feel another phone call to head office coming on 🫢


Can you believe that when in ‘friendly’ mode he asked Nix if she had any family living nearby!!! She lied 🤔

    I am glad you had a nice visit with Tracy and some cuddles. I understand the frustration with the Sky box man, we call it cable box here and they can be confusing and not easy to fix. They had to bring a new router and charged me!!! That has never happened before so a call to the office is on the way. Have a good evening!!!! xxooxx

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
