The Sky Saga Continues 🙄

 So the Sky saga continues 😔 The executive office called Nix back this morning but she was in communion. She called them when she got home and told them what had happened with the horrible Sky man. They were really really nice and said that first of all they were going to send her a brand new remote control with voice control so we could make sure it’s not that and they would get in touch after Nix tried it out. No sooner had Nix put the phone down to them than the subtitles popped up and she couldn’t get rid of them again.



Edith came to sit with me this afternoon because Nix was going to a celebration of life. Her friend Liz who she sits with in Church lost her husband very suddenly and Nix went along to that. Edith said she didn’t mind the subtitles as she quite often uses them anyway but when Nix got home, she turned them off and they stayed off. It seems suddenly that the whole problem is cured and Nix gets a brand new remote control so all is good. It was weird how it suddenly cured itself, maybe they did something at their end. I think Nix seems much happier anyway. 



Rita came with us to the celebration of life and so when they got back here, they had a cup of tea and then we walked over the bridge together. Rita went home and Nix and I came home too, but we picked up some fish and chips on the way, which was very yummy .



Apart from that, I haven’t done anything interesting today at all but it’s been raining anyway so I’m hoping that tomorrow will be a much more interesting day.



PS The subtitles have just reappeared, Nix is not happy.

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. My name is Fripp aka The Fripster, I am a Bearded Collie and I came to live with Nix when I was two years old.  I spent the first two years of my life living in Monaco but my owners couldn’t keep me because they were working long hours. Even though Nix lives in the UK she saw me and wanted me, naturally, and so my breeder brought me to the UK when she was visiting Crufts. Nix says she had no idea what she was letting herself in for and if I hadn’t come all the way from France she’d have sent me straight back the next day. She said I was completely untrained, tried to kill the cat and had separation anxiety so bad I would knock her over rather than let her get to the front door. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
