Long Walk Today…

 


It was very sad this morning, we found a hedgehog in the middle of the pavement but Nix realised quite quickly that it had died. This was very sad and it made Nix cry a bit. She wouldn’t come back that way so we had to do a detour. It started raining too so we got really wet. Nix is hoping someone will put him somewhere nice but he’ll probably get thrown away…very sad 😪🦔




We had a long walk after lunch and I took Nix all the way to the old fort. I was fine but I think she found it a bit much, she was puffing and panting on the way back and wanting to sit down. Honestly it’s not even 2 miles 🙄





Later on this afternoon Nix sat on her glasses and broke both arms off. We have just had a walk into town to buy some more reading glasses so she could type out my blog. I think we are going to rest now until our last walk this evening though Nix is meant to be making an apple crumble. She’s bought the apples and she’s threatening to do it when she’s finished my blog 🤔






I am going to the groomers tomorrow so Nix has been brushing my tail. Apparently it’s bushier than normal, not sure why but I quite like it.

    So sad that the hedgehog died......I would cry too! I love your bushy tail, very very nice! I am sure the apple crumble will be delicious. I have apples I need to use also, that sounds like a very tasty treat! Have a wonderful evening.

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. My name is Fripp aka The Fripster, I am a Bearded Collie and I came to live with Nix when I was two years old.  I spent the first two years of my life living in Monaco but my owners couldn’t keep me because they were working long hours. Even though Nix lives in the UK she saw me and wanted me, naturally, and so my breeder brought me to the UK when she was visiting Crufts. Nix says she had no idea what she was letting herself in for and if I hadn’t come all the way from France she’d have sent me straight back the next day. She said I was completely untrained, tried to kill the cat and had separation anxiety so bad I would knock her over rather than let her get to the front door. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
