Groomers Today And A Trip To Vale Park



 Early start today to go to the groomers so Nix thought she’d have an early night last night. She went to bed at 10pm, I mean that’s ridiculous isn’t it. Obviously by midnight I was needing to go out and do a bit of stargazing and do you know what, she tried to ignore me. Half an hour she turned her back on me but I danced up and down on those floors until she had to get up and let me out. Actually I didn’t stay out too long and she was back asleep by around 2am 🤣





We made it to,the groomers on time and when I came out Nix took me to a park we used to visit when we lived in Hove. It made a nice change actually, it wasn’t very big but there were lots of new smells. As soon as we got home Nix decided she was going to make an apple crumble. I think there was quite a lot of work involved with peeling and coring the apples and she says she’s got repetitive strain injury…seriously 🤣🤣🤣 Anyway she says she wants to get some sort of machine that will do all the work otherwise she’s not doing it again. Thing about that is she’s already promised Jackie she’ll make one for Christmas Day. I think they should wait until they’ve tasted this one before they make any serious decisions!





I wanted to go out just now so Nix has taken me into town. Do you know that quite a lot of people without dogs carry dog treats around…I always get one 😋 I also found a huge clump of Pellitory which as you know is very good for my kidney stones so I ate quite a lot of that. I think Nix might have taken a video. 


I think Nix is finally dozing off but she does have a coffee table (very heavy one) to move out to the summerhouse so she better not nap for too long 😇

    You look fabulous Fripp! Your groomer did a fantastic job as she always does. I am sure the apple crumble will be delicious! Not sure if it would be something you can have though. Happy Friday and have a wonderful day!!!

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. My name is Fripp aka The Fripster, I am a Bearded Collie and I came to live with Nix when I was two years old.  I spent the first two years of my life living in Monaco but my owners couldn’t keep me because they were working long hours. Even though Nix lives in the UK she saw me and wanted me, naturally, and so my breeder brought me to the UK when she was visiting Crufts. Nix says she had no idea what she was letting herself in for and if I hadn’t come all the way from France she’d have sent me straight back the next day. She said I was completely untrained, tried to kill the cat and had separation anxiety so bad I would knock her over rather than let her get to the front door. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
