We Think Summer Has Arrived…



 We definitely think summer has arrived. This does cause us a bit of a problem because normally Nix and I would go in the car with the air con on and find a shady spot to walk. I’m not so confident getting in the car at the moment because my back legs gave way the other day and I nearly fell over. Nix says she will support me now but to be honest it’s all she can do to stand on her own two feet without having to support moi aussi. Sharon Prassa has sent us some exercises so we will let Bron look at those today and see if they might be helpful for me. Nix has also been looking again at the buggy thingies but she realised today that we couldn’t go out in one of those because it would be too hot in the summer. Thankfully today it was really windy and it kept me nice and cool. 



This morning we had our usual  Friday morning meditation and when we went over to the Parish Centre afterwards I lay straight down and went to sleep. I usually wait until after we’ve had our croissants but today I was a bit tired…I did wake up when the croissants arrived.





This afternoon we have just been round the block. Nix took some photos of us on our walk, not the most ‘scenic’ of photos but they have moi in them so I hope that you will like them. 





Tomorrow being the fourth Saturday of the month means there will be a market in town which we shall visit and coffee and cake at the Parish Centre too. Nix says it doesn’t look as though it is going to be sunny at all in the morning so I think we’ll be okay.

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
