A Leisurely Day Today…



 I had a very good night last night. Nix took me out at about 10pm and I went straight to bed and didn’t wake up once. It did mean however that we woke up quite early so we were out on the beach before 7am. It was very windy but I think we have another storm coming tomorrow. 



After our beach walk I went straight to sleep but I did wake up at 10am, I think it was the shock of being asleep for over eight hours last night. As the sun was out and Nix knew it would be raining later on we decided to go for a walk into town. We had a good walk round the churchyard which is actually quite big. They have benches all round the edges and people like to sit there with their coffees, it was very popular during the pandemic when the humans were finally released from their homes. I had my photo taken by the remains of the old nave which would have originally been part of the church building (you might be able to see where it was attached.) We’re not sure what happened to it, Nix is trying to find out but she thinks it fell into decline when the population of Shoreham declined and there wasn’t I had a very good night last night. Today I have had my beard combed to within an inch of its life. I am going to the groomers tomorrow morning and Nix wanted to make sure I didn’t have to stand there for too long. To be honest I shall be glad when it’s a bit shorter because I do drink a lot and it will be a little easier to keep it clean…and the furniture dry 🙂

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
