Wet and Windy Today…





 Ooh it’s very wet and windy today. That’s a shame because it means my walks are a bit shorter. It was windy last night on our last walk of the evening but it didn’t rain but today we have both. Nix doesn’t like the wind and rain together but I’m just glad that the skies have stopped flashing. 



We went to the café this morning and we very nearly got blown over. It rained the whole time we were in there and just stopped long enough when we left for us have a little walk and get home. It was lovely to have Sheila and Edgar help us this morning. They have both been very supportive of the café and we love them very much. They are looking after a Cocker Spaniel called Monty at the moment so he came to visit too. 



When we got home we had a lovely surprise. Our friend Paul had just turned up and had got rid of all the weeds that had grown between the paving stones on the front drive. Nix had been looking at them every day getting bigger and bigger, she’d even tried to get rid of some but their roots were too deep. She’d just been looking to buy one of those thingies to get the weeds out but now she won’t have to bother. Thank you Paul, Nix can spend her time walking me now instead of doing the garden.



At the moment we are waiting for it to stop raining so we can go for a nice walk but Nix said she’s not holding her breath. I have positioned myself by the front door just to make sure she can’t sneak out without me.

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
