Hove Park Today 🙂



 I did not like last night, there were flashing lights in the sky and they wouldn’t stop. I was so scared even digging up the floor didn’t help and I might have wee’d myself a bit. Nix said she had never seen thunder and lightning like it because it was constant. I think there might be a video from the camera at the old fort…Nix will look for it.

Before we went to bed last night we took a walk into town over the footbridge. Nix thought it might tire me out and I would sleep through the storm…no chance. We walked all through the churchyard and I ate some Pellitron. Nix stood in front of a lamp and it made a spooky shape on the wall of the church. Anyway it was just getting dark and the bridge was all lit up and it looked very pretty. There weren’t any tables outside the restaurants because everyone was expecting the storm. 




This afternoon we had a treat to make up for last night and we drove over to Hove Park. I really like it there because there is a café and sometimes I get cake but we didn’t stop today in case it started raining. We walked all round the park and now we are home and I’m resting up. It hasn’t rained at all this afternoon and it’s not meant to this evening either so hopefully I won’t get scared.




Oh yes, Nix found out some info on the plane that landed in someone’s back garden in town. Apparently the pilot was a brain surgeon and guess what, he didn’t refuel for his journey home and so he ran out. First one engine stopped, then the other and so he headed for the railway track as he thought it the only safe place to land. He almost made it, the house he wrecked was next door to the track. No one was hurt by the way…he was apparently sitting on the garden wall when the emergency services arrived.

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
