Nix Nearly Crashed the Car 🫢

 Well, it has been quite an eventful day because when Nix put the car on the drive she forgot to put the handbrake on. We came inside and about 10 minutes later the doorbell went, and she looked through the window to see a man standing there waving at her. She then noticed that her car wasn’t there, it was on the other side of the road on the pavement! Apparently it only just missed a collision with a Tesco van. 




Nix has been doing more clearing out. This time it’s been a whole new set of files. There were five Fripp files altogether. There’s one for my blood test results and one for my insurance and others for various hospital visits. She was looking at the one from North Downs where I had my bypass done. The bill altogether came to over £14.000 and one of the invoices is five pages long. She’s keeping all the Fripp files but she’s actually filled up the recycling bin with all the waste paper, this time it’s mainly her old bank statements which go back decades. At this rate we’ll have plenty of storage space for more toys and coats and things for moi.




 Next job for the day was to renew the car insurance but naughty Tesco have doubled the cost so she’s having to go with someone else. There was talk of getting rid of the car, but then she looked at my face and changed her mind. I like to go off in the car to where there’s lots of green grass and rivers. 




We drove to the Rec and we had a lovely walk through the woods and down by the river and Nix took some photos. It’s meant to be getting really warm soon and Nix is saying she will be going into the sea definitely but I’ll believe that when I see it. 



We haven’t really done anything else today, Nix has been watching the original Doctors programmes. They’ve been off all over the summer so she’s enjoying this time of putting her feet up. She also has The Archers to catch up on and some other weird TV programme that she watches so I’ve gone to bed .

It’s My Birthday Tomorrow 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
