We’ve Been Back to Hove Park Today…

 Nix’s new hat arrived from the US so thanks to Judi Carlton for making her so happy, it’s a lovely birthday present. I know that her hair annoys her in the wind so now she’s got a hat to wear to keep it out of her face. She’s been trying to take a photo of herself wearing it where she looks a lot younger than she is… might be a long wait 🫢



I’ve been wearing my ‘deaf dog’ thingy today and I quite like it. Lots of people want to fuss me but now they take their time and wait until I’m looking before they stroke me. This way it’s not such a shock. There are some funny comments when I’m off my lead and Nix is wearing it round her neck…I mean it was asking for trouble really 🤣




This afternoon we have been to Hove Park. It’s the only bit of Hove that we miss so it was nice to go back there. Nix does keep a close eye on me when I’m off my lead but today I managed to get into a clump of bushes before she could stop me. She did try to get in too but there were low branches and nettles so she had to turn back. She needn’t have worried, I came out the same way I went in…this time 🤣




We have no home group this evening so I’m angling for an extra walk, the sun is out and a meander down the river would be reasonably acceptable 😇

It’s My Birthday Tomorrow 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
