Bad Flooding Today ☔️

 So before we start shall I just remind you all that this blog is entitled ‘The Adventures of Fripp’ not ‘The Adventures of Nix’s Trip to the Hairdressers’  Nice as Nix’s new haircut is I’m not sure it should be getting quite so much attention. I am off to the groomers soon so you can save your compliments for moi 😉



Do you remember the saga of the Western Union money order that dear Ginny Tennyson sent from America to buy me a new coat. Let me remind you…Nix took it to the local post office who wouldn’t cash it  and they sent her to the main post office. They couldn’t cash it and sent her to the bank who in turn sent her to her own branch which was 20 minutes away. They couldn’t cash it and said they didn’t know who could. Nix sent the money order back to Ginny who very kindly send some cash instead. Meanwhile Ginny couldn’t get a refund so she sent the money order back to Nix who decided she would have one more attempt at cashing it. She discovered a Western Union office some distance away so off she went. The man in the office looked at it and said he’d never seen one in his life before.  Nix of course remained calm or so she says and marched out of the shop. She has finally managed to get through on the phone to be told that they can only be cashed in America! Nix is now sending it back to Ginny where hopefully she will be able to spend it on herself. It is the most well travelled money order in the universe 🤣




Bad storm this morning. Apparently the thunder was very loud but I couldn’t hear it and the bright skies weren’t that scary because it was already daylight. We had bad flooding on the main road so it’s a good job we waited until this afternoon to go to Buckingham Park.

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
