Nix Is On The Antibiotics…

 Nix has called the doctor and she’s on a short course of antibiotics. I think we’re all relieved and now maybe we can both get some sleep. 



This is good news of course but the best news is… the BCJ is moving today. We couldn’t get onto our drive when we got back from cleaning the church because the gas men had blocked it off. We took a detour down Old Fort Road and Nix spotted the removal van immediately. After last time though when there was a small van but they never moved we wanted to be sure. We went back later and all the packing cases were piled up on the drive. Nix is very excited, I’m rather disappointed, I enjoyed the odd tussle but I know Nix found it quite stressful. We don’t know where they’re going but we’re going to assume it’s a long long way away. 



So the gas men are here and we thought it would be very noisy but it hasn’t been too bad. They are replacing all the old gas pipes with new plastic ones and tomorrow they will have to turn our gas off for the day so it’s a good job it’s lovely and warm. Do you know that they hoover all the rubble out, no more men with spades, just one man with a big hoover. I’ve been watching through the window, it’s very interesting.  



We are about to go out for a proper walk in a minute because Nix had to wait in for the doctor to call back. When she first rang a message said they were on red alert and had no appts but if it was urgent you could ask for a doctor to call you back. Nix wasn’t sure whether it was urgent but she didn’t want to get pneumonia so she decided to request a call back. The doctor was very nice and said she’d done the right thing. 



Nix watched 2001: A Space Oddysey while she was waiting for the doc to call…now that’s a very weird film 🤔

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
