I”ve Got Shelves for all my Beardie Paraphernalia 😇

 Can I just say that it is quite difficult to write a blog about my day when moi hasn’t actually done anything. Well when I say I haven’t done anything I don’t mean I haven’t done anything at all, just not as much as moi is used to.




The day started with a walk down the boardwalk and then home to wait for the handyman to come and put up my shelf and a couple for Nix as well. He’s called Brian and he works for a company called ‘Rent-A-Hubby. He parked his van in our drive for four hours so Nix isn’t sure what the neighbours must have thought 🤣 Anyway my shelves are up, notice I used the plural as I have two shelves. Apparently I have far too much paraphernalia and it wouldn’t all fit on one shelf. I have a box to keep my leads and harnesses in and another one for my grooming kit. My coats took up quite a lot of room and my throws needed a shelf all to themselves 😇




Once the shelves were finished we put some paintings and hanging things on the wall. This was mainly because they always used to be in the summerhouse and when Nix used it as a virtual background on Zoom everyone kept saying what a lovely house she had. We decided our lounge was very boring so we got lots of stuff from the summerhouse and hung it on our walls. I’m especially happy with the hanging thingies that Jill Smith made for moi especially the plaque for my fan club and my own beach hut...she was very kind. We miss you on the Friendly Beardie Club Jill but you will be in heaven with Violet for ever and I know you will be happy. 




Once we’d finished decorating the lounge we went for another walk to the beach. Nix decided to take a detour on the way back to see if the garage had any petrol but they didn’t. We had a long walk back along the road and finally home. I’m actually quite tired but expecting more tomorrow…

Too Much Noisy Rain

 Last night it started to rain, a lot, and as you know I do not like it when it rains, it scares me. I don’t mind it when I’m out on my walk as you can see from my photos but I don’t like it when I’m inside. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to get off the bed and start digging. Nix was very understanding for once but she does try to get me back on the bed. In the end I gave up and got on the bed and was just drifting off when there was this really loud scary noise. Nix said it sounded like a very loud demented dalek whatever that is...it was very scary and made me and Nix really jump. Turned out to be something to do with her phone and the battery going...is it too much to ask that she keep a check on these things, nearly gave me a heart attack.  It hasn’t stopped raining all day so there are only photos of me wet. I didn’t stay wet for long, I blotted myself off on the sofa first and then Nix’s bed. She thought there were towels on it but I’d dug them all up. The best news today is

Big Boats and Little Dogs

 There was a very big boat making a lot of noise when we got to the beach this morning. Nix thought that it was very interesting, me not so much. I suppose it shows just how boring Nix’s life really is.  We went down the river this afternoon. You know how Nix has always been scared of going over the bridge over the busy road. Well now she’s decided she doesn’t like going under the busy road either. I think the lockdown thingy has finally done it’s worst. She says it’s worse coming back because she can see it in the distance and knows she’s got to go under it eventually. I like it under there, it’s really noisy and you can hear the lorries above you racing along.  I like to think I took her mind off going under the bridge by perfecting another one of my annoying habits. I like to walk right behind her and when she looks over her right shoulder to make sure I’m still there I overtake her on the left.
