It’s a Sizzler Today, we Haven’t Done a Lot…

 Summer’s here everyone, Nix is very happy and I don’t mind it either because we get to go to the woods to stay cool. Having said that we haven’t been to the woods yet today but I think we shall go later. 



This morning we did our usual walk down to the old fort but I had to stay on my lead still. I don’t mind really because I don’t run a lot these days unless I’ve lost Nix. Actually I quite like walking by her side and I like to trot to make her walk faster…keeps her fit. This morning was very exciting because there is now a coffee place there, it’s called the Pollenator Café. You remember my friend Bollow, the big Newfie well his family own it, it’s actually in their back garden. There’s lovely cold water in the bowl and dog treats and it’s just perfect. Bollow’s owner plays the guitar and he’s very good. He was filming up at Devil’s Dyke yesterday but it was too hot for me to go.



After we came home Nix went to the beach with Jackie next door and they went for a swim/paddle.  Neither of them can actually swim but at least Jackie isn’t carrying a boogie board under her arm and embarrassing herself like Nix. I’m so glad I wasn’t there. 


We haven’t been out again as Nix was sunbathing in the garden and I found a nice shady spot to have another kip. We are back indoors now and I fell asleep with my head on Nix’s lap, I like doing that. In a minute I expect we’ll go to the woods 🙂

 We’ve not done a lot today. Nix has been dozing off at various times and to be honest, I’ve been asleep too. It’s quite nice actually not having anything to do. Nix has been working on the church log book so there was lots of tutting, mainly because she couldn’t remember where she’d put anything. Just in case you were wondering, the log book is an account of everything that is added to the church or taken away or repaired. Eventually Nix will fill in the actual document with special ink that doesn’t fade so it will be there for future generations to read.  We did go to the Rec this afternoon as I did need a little walk but we didn’t stay too long, it was very cold. It was also very muddy but not to worry, most of it will fall off tomorrow in time for my birthday 🙂 Speaking of my birthday, I have received quite a lot of presents and cards which is very exciting. RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 😪

  RIP Fripp 5.1.2010 - 8.2.25 My darling Fripp has crossed the bridge 😪 He passed very peacefully this afternoon in a lovely special room with a bed for him and a sofa for me. I am okay, I think, and I know time will heal.  A little bit about my gorgeous boy…he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was 7. He did really well on his home cooked diet but when he was eight he developed autoimmune thrombocytopenia due to some meds he was given…not by Bron. He went on a high dose of steroids, lost a lot of his coat with his gorgeous tail being almost bald. He survived the disease and went on to become strong but always with the kidney disease in the background.  Some months later he got sick again and went into kidney failure. He spent a week at North Downs Referrals where they discovered his ureter was blocked with a stone and so he received a subcutaneous ureteral bypass from his kidney to his bladder.
